Job summary

Saipem in Chennai, India, is seeking an experienced Instrumentation professional with 5+ years of relevant experience in oil & gas projects, including offshore and LNG exposure. The role requires ensuring quality, budget, and schedule compliance for instrumentation activities, and hands-on work with instrument sizing and control systems.

Responsibilities include proposing estimates, EPC development, FEED/basic engineering, and reviewing P&IDs, MTOs, RFQs, TBEs, and other design deliverables,

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in oil & gas projects, with offshore and LNG exposure preferred.
  • Ensure quality, budget, and schedule compliance for instrumentation activities.
  • Execute proposals, man-hour estimation, EPC development, and FEED/basic engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of international instrumentation codes and standards.
  • Participate in SIL, HAZOP, FAT, and other safety/quality activities.
  • Coordinate with vendors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams; review P&IDs and specifications.
  • Prepare/review MTOs, RFQs, TBEs, VDRs, and key design deliverables (layouts, wiring, hook-ups).
  • Hands-on in instrument sizing, control systems (DCS, ESD, F&G), and SPI (INTOOLS).

Responsibilities

  • Lead instrumentation activities for projects ensuring compliance with quality, safety and schedule requirements.
  • Review P&IDs, specifications, and engineering deliverables; coordinate with vendors and clients.
  • Prepare MTOs, RFQs, TBEs, and other key design deliverables; support FEED and EPC activities.
  • Support sizing, control systems, and SPI tool usage to ensure robust instrumentation design.
