Job summary

KBR, Inc. in India is seeking an Instrumentation Design Engineer to lead instrumentation and control design activities within the Sustainable Technology Solutions division. The role emphasizes hands-on design, deliverables planning, and quality assurance across multi-discipline interfaces.

The candidate will review schedules, coordinate interfaces, and ensure tag coverage on P&IDs while mentoring junior engineers and guiding procurement for instrument tags.

Qualifications

• BE in Instrumentation and Control / Electronics and Instrumentation.
• 7 to 20 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge in Instrumentation and Control System Engineering; hands-on with SPI and Navisworks.

Responsibilities

• Plan all deliverables for the identified commodity.
• Review Level-3 schedule and MDR dates; coordinate with relevant disciplines for interfaces.
• Identify inputs required for engineering deliverables pertaining to the commodity.
• Check P&IDs and instrument index; ensure tags align with issued P&IDs.
• Maintain the tracker for all engineering deliverables pertaining to the commodity.
• Ensure good quality deliverables and provide guidance to engineers.
• Procure all tags pertaining to the commodity.
• Maintain status of all instruments (ordered, HOLD, etc).
• Maintain HOLD register and ensure checklist/check prints are stored.
• Communicate delays to Lead and reforecast dates.

Summary Section

Under general supervision, independently applies advanced engineering techniques, makes decisions on engineering problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions or to negotiate with key engineers and officials of other organizations. Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers and is consulted extensively by associates and others with a high degree of reliance placed on scientific interpretations and advice. Job role is responsible for a measurable asset such as an assigned staff and budget.

Responsibilities:

• Should have strong knowledge in Instrumentation and Control System Engineering for various industries. Should have hands on experience in SPI, Navisworks.
• Shall be responsible for Planning of all Deliverables related to the identified Commodity.
• Shall review the Level-3 schedule, MDR dates, shall co-ordinate with all relevant disciplines for required interface.
• Shall be responsible for identifying the inputs that are required all the Engineering deliverables pertaining to that commodity.
• Shall check the P&IDs and instrument index and shall ensure that all tags are covered as per issued P&IDs.
• Shall be responsible for maintaining the tracker for all Engineering deliverables pertaining to that commodity.
• Shall be responsible for ensuring good quality deliverables. Shall provide technical support / guidance to all Engineers.
• Shall be responsible for procurement of all tags pertaining to the commodity.
• Shall be responsible for maintaining status of all instruments (ordered, not ordered, HOLD, etc)
• Shall be responsible for maintaining HOLD register.
• Shall be responsible for ensuring that check list, check print, are stored in the drive.
• Shall communicate with Lead if the inputs are delayed, to reforecast the dates.

Qualifications including Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

BE - Instrumentation and Control / Electronics and Instrumentation .

Experience: 7 to 20 relevant experiences.
