Job summary

Hitachi Energy India Limited in Gurugram invites an experienced Installation Supervisor to join our HVDC Installation Department. You will supervise on-site AC/DC installations in global projects and coordinate with the Installation Manager to ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence.

You will lead subcontractors, align with engineering for necessary documentation, and maintain strong supplier relations while upholding Hitachi Energy’s safety and integrity values.

Qualifications

• Technical education in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 6–10 years of work experience in relevant field.
• Experience in HVDC or Substation projects preferred.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Supervise on-site installations (AC and DC) for high voltage projects.
• Manage and guide subcontractors to ensure timely, safe, and cost-effective completion.
• Contribute to planning and execution of installation activities.
• Coordinate installation activities with the Installation Manager/Site Manager.
• Coordinate with engineering for required documentation and provide mark-ups for as-built docs.

The opportunity

You will be part of the Hitachi Energy HVDC Installation Department, which is responsible for execution of all mechanical and electrical installation activities in our delivery projects across the world. The department also support tendering and sales in providing technical input, and the department aids the engineering office in developing the design.

How you’ll make an impact

• Your main mission will be to supervise installations on site (both AC and DC) in high voltage installation global projects
• Manage and guide subcontractors to ensure completion of all installation activities efficiently and cost-effectively, in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements
• Contribute to planning and implementation of installation activities
• Coordinate the installation activities with the Installation Manager / Site Manager
• You will also coordinate with engineering office to assure needed documentation is used at site during execution and provide mark-ups for as-built project documentation
• Maintain good relationships to internal and external suppliers
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

• You have a technical education, preferably with a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Or have acquired previous experience in electrical- or mechanical installation work in large scale projects.
• You have at least 6-10 years of work experience within relevant field
• Experience of installation supervision is advantageous.
• Previous experience from HVDC or Substation projects are preferred
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
