Job summary

Sara International in Chennai is seeking an experienced Installation Engineer for Technical Textile Machines responsible for installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and after-sales technical support at customer locations across Chennai.

The role involves collaboration with customers, internal service teams, and machine suppliers to ensure smooth installation, optimum performance, and high customer satisfaction. Travel may be required across India.

Qualifications

• Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Textile, Electrical, or Mechatronics engineering.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission technical textile and industrial machinery at customer sites.
• Supervise assembly, alignment, calibration, and electrical connections.
• Conduct machine trials and production tests per manufacturer specs.
• Train operators on operation and basic maintenance.
• Prepare installation, commissioning, and service reports.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control-system issues.
• Attend breakdowns and service calls with timely resolutions.
• Coordinate with overseas suppliers for support, upgrades, and modifications.
• Identify critical spare parts and prepare quotations.
• Support AMC/service contracts and machine upgrades.
• Build relationships with Production Managers and Plant Heads.
• Travel extensively across India to customer sites.

Installation Engineer Technical Textile Machines responsible for machine installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and after-sales technical support at customer locations across Chennai.The role will involve working closely with customers, internal service teams, and machine suppliers to ensure smooth machine installation, commissioning, optimum machine performance, and customer satisfaction. The position will also support spare parts sales, AMC/service contracts, machine upgrades, and retrofit solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Installation & Commissioning

• Install and commission technical textile and industrial machinery at customer sites.
• Supervise machine assembly, alignment, calibration, and electrical connections.
• Conduct machine trials and production tests as per manufacturer specifications.
• Train customer operators and maintenance teams on machine operation and basic maintenance.
• Prepare installation, commissioning, and service reports.

Technical Service & Troubleshooting

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control-system issues.
• Attend machine breakdown and service calls and ensure timely resolution.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and machine health checks.
• Maintain machine service records, performance reports, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with overseas machine suppliers for technical support, troubleshooting, upgrades, and modifications.

Spare Parts & After-Sales Support

• Identify and recommend critical spare parts for installed machines.
• Prepare spare-parts quotations and follow up with customers.
• Support spare-parts inventory planning and forecasting.
• Coordinate spare-parts order processing, dispatch, and installation.
• Identify opportunities for machine upgrades, retrofit components, accessories, and additional equipment.

AMC & Customer Relationship Management

• Support management of Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and service agreements.
• Schedule periodic service visits and machine health checks.
• Support warranty claims and technical evaluations.
• Build strong relationships with Production Managers, Maintenance Heads, Plant Heads, and other key customer personnel.
• Provide technical recommendations to improve machine productivity, reliability, and uptime.

• Good communication and customer-handling abilities.
• Ability to independently handle customer-site assignments.
• Willingness to travel extensively across India.
• Experience in spare-parts identification/sales or after-sales service will be an advantage.
• Experience coordinating with international machinery manufacturers/suppliers will be preferred.
