Job summary

Confio Technologies Private Limited is seeking an Installation Engineer to manage installation, configuration, testing, commissioning, and servicing of home automation systems at client sites in Bengaluru. Fluency in Hindi is mandatory for effective communication with clients, technicians, and vendors.

You will install smart devices, perform wiring, configure IoT gateways, and ensure proper operation of KNX, RS485, Z-Wave, Zigbee, Matter, and Wi‑Fi networks.

Qualifications

Diploma/BE/B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation.
2–3 years’ experience in home automation, system integration, or field installation.
Hands-on KNX/RS485/Z-Wave/Zigbee/Matter or other home automation protocols preferred.

Responsibilities

Install and configure home automation devices and networks.
Perform wiring, panel configuration, and system integration.
Test, commission, and troubleshoot on-site, ensuring customer handover.
Demonstrate systems and train customers on apps and scenes.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Installation Engineer to manage the installation, configuration, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and servicing of home automation systems at client sites. The role requires strong technical knowledge, practical field experience, and excellent customer-handling skills to ensure smooth implementation of smart home solutions.

Fluency in Hindi is mandatory for effective communication with clients, technicians, electricians, contractors, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

System Installation & Commissioning

Install and configure home automation devices such as smart switches, lighting controllers, dimmers, sensors, curtain controllers, AV systems, hubs/gateways, and network equipment.

Perform wiring, device mounting, panel configuration, and system integration as per project requirements.

Configure and commission IoT devices, gateways, mobile applications, and smart home systems.

Work with different communication protocols including KNX, RS485, Z-Wave, Zigbee, Matter, and Wi-Fi.

Ensure proper communication and compatibility between automation devices, gateways, networks, and applications.

Conduct site installation and commissioning as per company standards and project specifications.

System Testing & Troubleshooting

Perform functional testing of all installed devices and automation systems.

Verify device operation, connectivity, pairing, communication, and automation scenarios.

Troubleshoot issues related to KNX, RS485, Z-Wave, Zigbee, Matter, Wi-Fi, networking, device pairing, gateways, sensors, switches, dimmers, and automation logic.

Identify and rectify wiring, communication, configuration, and installation issues at the site.

Coordinate with internal technical/QA teams for advanced technical issues when required.

Ensure all systems are stable and ready for customer handover.

Customer Training & Communication

Demonstrate installed systems and explain product features and functionality to customers.

Train customers on mobile applications, device control, scenes, schedules, automation, and basic troubleshooting.

Communicate professionally and confidently in Hindi and English with customers and site teams.

Understand customer requirements and provide appropriate technical solutions.

Collect customer feedback and provide professional after-sales support.

Site Coordination & Management

Coordinate with Project Managers, Electricians, Contractors, Interior Designers, Vendors, and Client Representatives for smooth project execution.

Verify site readiness, wiring, power supply, network availability, and material availability before installation.

Monitor installation quality and ensure work is completed within project timelines.

Maintain proper documentation of installation, testing, and commissioning activities.

Follow company safety procedures and installation guidelines at all times.

Travel to client locations as required for installation, commissioning, service, and troubleshooting.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong hands-on experience in Home Automation, IoT, System Integration, Networking, or Low-Voltage Systems.

Good understanding of KNX, RS485, Z-Wave, Zigbee, Matter, Wi-Fi, and other smart home communication protocols.

Good understanding of smart home devices, gateways, sensors, switches, dimmers, and automation systems.

Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, electrical layouts, connection schematics, and project drawings.

Knowledge of Wi-Fi setup, IP configuration, routers, LAN, RS485 communication, and basic networking concepts.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem‑solving skills.

Ability to work independently at client sites and handle field‑level technical issues.

Good customer‑handling, communication, presentation, and coordination skills.

Willingness to travel to client sites as required.

Hindi fluency is mandatory.

Education & Experience

Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation, or a related field.

2â3 years of relevant experience in home automation, system integration, field installation, electrical/electronics installation, IoT, networking, or a similar technical field.

Candidates with strong hands‑on experience in KNX, RS485, Z-Wave, Zigbee, Matter, or other home automation protocols will be preferred.
