Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in Karnataka is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer III to join the Employee Platforms team. You will apply strong knowledge of infrastructure disciplines, scripting, and cloud technologies to support scale, reliability, and performance in a critical environment.

You will partner with application and infrastructure teams, own monitoring and capacity planning, and help drive automation across public and private clouds.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on Infrastructure engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure disciplines including hardware, networking, databases, storage, deployment practices, automation, scalability and performance assessments.
• Strong knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, shell).
• 5+ years hands-on experience with F5 Load Balancing technologies (GTM, LTM, ASM, APM, AFM).
• 5+ years hands-on experience in Cisco networking technologies (routing/switching) and firewall products.
• Software development experience in Python/Unix or similar languages.
• Experience with multiple cloud technologies across public and private clouds.
• Ability to operate in a 24x7 mission-critical environment with multiple vendor/customer relationships.
• Desire to expand infrastructure knowledge across domains, data fluency and automation.

Job responsibilities

• Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications
• Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path
• Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems
• Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications
• Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses
• Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
• Be accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on Infrastructure engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
• Strong knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)
• The network engineer must 5+ years of hands‑on experience in installation, migration and decommission of F5 Load balancing technologies (GTM, LTM, ASM, APM, AFM).
• Relevant 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Cisco networking technologies (routing/switching) and firewall products and technologies
• Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming/scripting languages: Python, Unix
• Experience with multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
• Strong work ethic in a mission‑critical 24x7 diverse environment with multiple vendor/customer relationships.
• Drives to develop infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains, data fluency, and automation knowledge

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• F5 certifications are preferred but not required; equivalent experience is acceptable
• Experience with forward or reverse proxy technologies is a plus.
• Flexible to work in off hours/weekends.
• Flexible to work in 24x7 on‑call rotation.
