Job summary

General Mills is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead migration and modernization of Oracle databases to the public cloud. You will manage Data Guard setups, ASM, and automate operations using Linux, shell scripting, and Python.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, ensure security standards, and support 24/7 production environments in a fast-paced, multi-platform setting. Strong DevOps experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years administering, designing, modernizing, or migrating enterprise Oracle databases.
• Oracle Database 19c, Data Guard, ASM, Linux, and shell scripting or Python.
• HA/DR, backup and recovery, tuning, and prod support experience.
• Cloud adoption, security, governance, and integration experience.
• Automation/DevOps for provisioning, monitoring, and lifecycle operations.
• Strong Linux experience; Windows Server is a plus.
• DevOps practices and proof-of-concepts experience.
• Self-starting, collaborative, and customer-focused.

You will administer mission-critical Oracle Database 19c platforms in a 24/7 environment, focusing on Data Guard primary-standby configurations, ASM, Linux, and shell/Python automation. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience: 5 + years administering, designing, modernizing, or migrating enterprise Oracle databases.
• Core Technical Skills: Oracle Database 19c; Data Guard primary-standby; ASM; Linux; and shell scripting and/or Python.
• High Availability and Recovery: Experience with HA, DR, backup and recovery, tuning, and production support.
• Cloud Experience: Experience with cloud adoption, security, governance, and integration.
• Automation and DevOps: Experience automating provisioning, support, monitoring, and lifecycle operations.
• Operating Systems: Strong Linux experience; Windows Server is beneficial.
• Engineering Practices: Working knowledge of DevOps and Agile practices and proofs of concept.
• Service Orientation: Experience designing user-centric database services, including self-service provisioning.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills; flexible, reliable, self-starting, and customer focused.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI): Experience with OCI and cloud-based Oracle database services.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform experience for OCI provisioning and automation.
• Automation Tooling: Ansible, GitHub, or similar tooling; Python or shell scripting.
• Additional Experience: Agile methods and cross-platform database experience.
