American Express is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to deliver 24x7x365 VMware operations. You will manage vCenter/ESXi, handle upgrades, and drive automation with PowerShell, Python, and Ansible in a large enterprise environment.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting, performance tuning, and secure, compliant deployments across VMware, Nutanix, UCS, and vSAN infra in Bengaluru.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years proven experience managing large enterprise VMware environments.
• Experience with virtualization tech including Nutanix Prism, UCS and vSAN.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and storage concepts (iSCSI, SAN, NAS).
• Experience with VMware guests, templates, V2V, VMotion, HA, DRS; security hardening and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support for VMware OS and related infrastructure.
• Manage vCenter and ESXi hosts across the delivery lifecycle; perform upgrades.
• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell/PowerCLI, Python, Ansible.
• Troubleshoot VMware, Nutanix, UCS components; network and storage issues; log analysis.

Job Description:

Responsible for contacting clients with overdue accounts to secure the settlement of the account. Also they do preventive work to avoid future overdues with accounts that have a high exposure.

The VMware Operations team is part of Cloud Operations and provides 24x7x365 management and Support for American Express Enterprise VMware Virtual Infrastructure. The Infrastructure Engineer position will provide day to day operational support for VMware OS and associated operations. This team will manage vCenter & ESXi hosts throughout the delivery lifecycle and will execute daily operations like upgrades, monitoring, hardware & tools management, scripting for routine tasks and delivery of reliable, robust support solutions.

Responsibilities

• Working in an enterprise environment providing operational support by building, configuring, and managing VMware vSphere version 6.x and higher.
• Handling of routine mundane tasks using PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python, Ansible and such automation tools/engines.
• Troubleshooting and Upgrade of VMware, Nutanix & UCS Components & hands on experience using command line on all platforms. Good troubleshooting skills and experience on log analysis.
• Builds, deploys, maintain and assist with repairs of VMware servers/hosts on racks, blades, and hyper converged infrastructures.
• Troubleshooting Hardware and Operating system related issues.
• Patch management, administration, and deployment. Maintaining standard ESXi image configuration.
• Experience in performance tuning of VMware servers, Virtual sessions, and management of server resources between virtual machines.
• Working with Enterprise Backup & Restore Processes (Familiarity with Cohesity Appliance).
• Good Understanding of ITIL Processes (Incident/Change/Problem Management) and operates within agreed SLAs & good documentation skills with regular focus on maintaining KEDB/KMDB.
• Maintaining skills to the current industry level of certification.
• Self-motivation and strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are key attributes for this position.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, schedule, and meet deadlines (work under pressure and prioritize tasks).

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years proven experience of managing large enterprise level VMware Environment.
• Working with virtualization technologies, such as VMware, Nutanix (Prism Central, Prism Element, AOS, NCC, Foundation, LCM), UCS & vSAN, vROps, vLog Insight, VRO.
• Clear understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NIC Teaming and distributed switches.
• Working understanding of SAN, NAS, NFS, VMFS, iSCSI.
• Experience in VMware Guests, Templates, P2V, Capacity Planner, VMotion, HA, DRS, etc.
• Good Understanding of Virtual infrastructure security Hardening & compliance including certificates for the overall virtualized environment.
• Experience on Dell, Intel, Cisco, HP Servers and associated management tools like, Dell OME/SAE, HP OneView.
• Basic understanding on cloud service platforms and concepts around the same.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/Management Information Systems or equivalent experience preferred.
• VMware & Nutanix certification is preferred.
• Minimum 6+ years proven experience of managing large enterprise level VMware Environment.
