Job summary

Kavveri Defence & Wireless Technologies Ltd in Bengaluru is seeking a full-time IT System Administrator to manage and maintain critical IT infrastructure and ensure high availability.

The role covers server and OS management, user access control, network configuration, security enforcement, backups, and vendor coordination. The ideal candidate will have experience with Windows and/or Linux environments, virtualization, and cloud/hybrid infra.

Qualifications

• Role requires strong system administration skills including server management and OS config.
• Ability to configure and monitor networks, firewalls, and access control.
• Experience in technical support and troubleshooting for hardware/software.
• Foundational IT knowledge: security, backups, and asset management.
• Experience with Windows and/or Linux servers, virtualization, and cloud/hybrid infra is beneficial.
• Degree/diploma in CS/IT or related field preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities; teamwork.
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco are a plus.

Responsibilities

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site IT System Administrator role based in Bengaluru. The System Administrator will manage and maintain servers, operating systems, and core IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. Responsibilities include monitoring systems, applying patches and updates, managing user accounts and permissions, and maintaining backups and disaster recovery procedures. The role also involves handling network configuration, coordinating with vendors, and enforcing security policies and best practices. The System Administrator will provide technical support to internal users, diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, document procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement of IT operations.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in System Administration, including server management, OS configuration, and user access control.
• Candidates should possess skills in Network Administration, such as basic routing and switching, firewall management, and network monitoring.
• Candidates should possess skills in Technical Support and Troubleshooting for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Candidates should possess foundational knowledge in Information Technology, including security practices, backup strategies, and IT asset management.
• Relevant experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments, virtualization platforms, and cloud or hybrid infrastructures is beneficial.
• A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams are important.
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft, or Cisco certifications are an added advantage.
