Job description

Responsibilities

• Designing, testing, and implementing secure operating systems, networks, and databases
• Password auditing, network based and Web application based vulnerability scanning, virus management, and intrusion detection
• Conducting risk audits and assessments, providing recommendations for application design
• Monitoring and analyzing system access logs
• Planning for security backup and system disaster recovery
• Participating in and leading the development of new solutions and projects
• Sharing best practice and advice with co‑workers in the professional area
• Generating own workload and outlining directions to others
• Supervising and coordinating lower‑level specialists, serving as single point of contact in complex matters
• Coordinating daily operations, enabling and overseeing the implementation of short to medium term activities within the team
• Delivering input to policies, processes and standards where decisions are of tactical and operational nature within a defined scope
• Managing a mixed team of Specialist and Support jobs, with full employee lifecycle responsibility

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge and experience in information systems security
• Strong understanding of secure operating systems, networks and databases design
• Experience with password auditing, vulnerability scanning, virus management, and intrusion detection
• Experience conducting risk audits and assessments
• Experience monitoring system access logs and planning restoration for disaster recovery
• Leadership experience: supervising, coordinating teams, providing direction, and serving as a single point of contact for complex issues
• Strong communication skills and ability to provide recommendations and collaborate across functional areas
