Job summary

Euromonitor International in Bengaluru invites a curious software engineer to join our Information Security team and build hands-on skills across a broad security spectrum. You will protect applications, systems, data, and processes while applying software engineering know-how.

You'll gain exposure to application security, vulnerability management, penetration testing, cloud security, compliance, and automation, working with Engineering, IT, Compliance, and Product teams.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of software engineering experience with a focus on security.
• Proficiency in at least one language such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C#, or Go.
• Understanding of software development practices, version control, and APIs.
• Familiarity with web app security concepts and authentication controls.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Review applications and APIs for security risks and suggest improvements.
• Support vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities.
• Assist with security reviews and risk assessments.
• Help manage vulnerabilities through remediation tracking.
• Develop scripts to automate security processes and reduce manual work.
• Collaborate with Engineering, IT, Compliance, Legal, and Procurement.

We're looking for a curious and motivated software engineer who wants to build a career in cybersecurity.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Information Security team and develop hands‑on experience across a broad range of security disciplines. You'll work alongside experienced security professionals while applying your software engineering skills to help protect applications, systems, data, and business processes.

Unlike many entry‑level cybersecurity roles that focus on a single area, this position offers exposure to multiple disciplines including application security, vulnerability management, penetration testing, security reviews, risk assessments, cloud security, compliance, and automation.

What You'll Be Doing

• Review applications, APIs, and software solutions for security risks and recommend improvements.
• Support security testing activities, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Assist with supplier, software, and project security reviews.
• Help manage and track security vulnerabilities through remediation.
• Contribute to risk assessments and security compliance activities.
• Support customer security questionnaires, audits, and assurance requests.
• Assist with day‑to‑day security operations and security tooling administration.
• Develop scripts and automations to improve security processes and reduce manual effort.
• Work closely with Engineering, IT, Compliance, Legal, Procurement, and business stakeholders

What We're Looking For

Essential

• 1-2 years of experience in Software Engineering, Development, or a similar technical role.
• Experience with at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C#, or Go.
• Understanding of software development practices, version control, and APIs.
• Knowledge of web application fundamentals, including authentication and access controls.
• Ability to read and understand code.
• A genuine interest in cybersecurity and a desire to learn.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, or a related discipline.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 or common application security concepts.
• Exposure to vulnerability scanning or security testing tools.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
• Awareness of ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, GDPR, or related standards.
• Security certifications such as Security+, CEH, eJPT, or similar.
