Job summary

Euromonitor is seeking a curious software engineer to build a career in cybersecurity. You’ll join the Information Security team and gain hands-on experience across security disciplines, applying software engineering skills to protect applications, data, and processes.

From application security to cloud security and automation, you’ll work with experienced professionals and drive improvements across multiple domains while growing into a well-rounded security professional.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in Software Engineering, Development, or a similar technical role.
• Experience with at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C#, or Go.
• Understanding of software development practices, version control, and APIs.
• Knowledge of web application fundamentals, including authentication and access controls.
• Ability to read and understand code.
• A genuine interest in cybersecurity and a desire to learn.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Review applications, APIs, and software solutions for security risks and recommend improvements.
• Support security testing activities, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Assist with supplier, software, and project security reviews.
• Help manage and track security vulnerabilities through remediation.
• Contribute to risk assessments and security compliance activities.
• Support customer security questionnaires, audits, and assurance requests.
• Assist with day‑to‑day security operations and security tooling administration.
• Develop scripts and automations to improve security processes and reduce manual effort.
• Work closely with Engineering, IT, Compliance, Legal, Procurement, and business stakeholders

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Information Security team and develop hands‑on experience across a broad range of security disciplines. You'll work alongside experienced security professionals while applying your software engineering skills to help protect applications, systems, data, and business processes.

Unlike many entry‑level cybersecurity roles that focus on a single area, this position offers exposure to multiple disciplines including application security, vulnerability management, penetration testing, security reviews, risk assessments, cloud security, compliance, and automation.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
• Awareness of ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, GDPR, or related standards.
• Security certifications such as Security+, CEH, eJPT, or similar.
