Job summary

PeopleStrong is seeking a Nursing Infection Control Specialist in Maharashtra's Pune district to lead infection control practices across departments. You will participate in preparing and reviewing the infection control manual and monitor adherence by hospital staff.

The role requires conducting rounds, collecting infection data, conducting training sessions, and reporting outbreaks to the Chief Nursing Officer and Head-Patient Safety. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Nursing documentation experience.
• Graduation or equivalent nursing qualification.
• Ability to conduct infection control training.

Responsibilities

• Take active participation in preparation and review of Infection Control Manual.
• Conduct regular rounds in hospital departments for discussing, monitoring and following practices of infection control with staff.
• Collect data on infections from hospital departments and maintaining records for every case.
• Conduct training sessions to ensure constant implementation of infection control practices.
• Conduct continuous surveillance for detecting the infection source for prevention.
• Follow and investigate incidents of hospital infections, generating reports and reporting to leadership.
• Ensure proper usage of disinfectants and guide on isolation practices.
• Implement educational programs for skills and knowledge regarding infection prevention to ensure a safe environment.
• Monitor the execution of preventive measures and provide guidance to staff.
• Participate in unit meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
• Monitor compliance to infection control protocols and environmental screening.
• Maintain relationships with employees, patients, families and community.

• Take active participation in preparation and review of Infection Control Manual

• Follow and investigate the incidents of hospital infections, generating reports and reporting them to Chief Nursing Officer and Infection Control Officer and Head-Patient Safety & Quality
• Ensure the proper usage of & disinfectants & guide on isolation practices.
• Implement educational programs for the provision of skills and knowledge regarding infection preventive measures and control practices to ensure a safe environment or surroundings to patients, visitors and staff.
• Monitor the execution of preventive measures and provide guidance to staff.
• Participate in unit meetings, in-service education programs, and quality improvement initiatives as assigned
• Monitor compliance to infection control protocols
• Carry out environmental screening program to prevent incidence of outbreaks of infections
• Keep track of all invasive lines were ever applicable to identify and manage any line related infections
• Track down the source of an organisms in the case of an outbreak of infections and implement remedies for control and management of outbreak
• Report infection outbreaks directly to the Chief Nursing Officer and General Manager - Operations
• Prepare monthly statistical information for presentations in infection control meetings.
• Report any interference for the implementation of infection control practices.
• Initiate emergency, fire safety measures, and safety practices as necessary.
• Educate employees about prevention and management of occupational exposure & supervise prophylactic immunization of all employees
• Establish protocols for biomedical waste segregation, transport and storage until handed over to the out sourced agency for treatment and disposal
• Monitors compliance to bio-medical waste handling protocols
• Actively participates in orientation of new employees to infection control policies of the hospital.
• Participating in infection control team meetings and assisting in their organization.
• Maintain good interpersonal relationship with all employees, patients, families and community.
• Ensure that patient's and or family's communications/requirements are attended or communicated to the concerned department/person
