Job summary

Aon plc in Gurgaon is seeking a Senior Manager- FP&A to lead financial planning and analysis for the Asia CFO finance team. The incumbent will partner with business units to provide accurate financial insights, drive forecasting and budgeting, and oversee month-end closes and reporting.

The role requires 9+ years of FP&A or related accounting experience in an international company, strong data analysis, and ability to manage a team in an in-office setup.

• Ability to partner with business for financial analysis and forecasting

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for defined area
• Support month-end closing activities including accruals, invoices, prepayments and reconciliations
• Publish reports as per calendar and highlight variances vs forecast/plan
• Perform variance analysis on cost components (e.g., travel)
• Analyze financial data and trends; develop sales and ops metrics
• Support forecasting, planning and budgeting processes with Asia CFO team
• Develop templates and review planning assumptions for annual budgeting
• Assist in regional cost allocation calculations
• Provide timely financial analysis to stakeholders for decision making
• Participate in financial reviews of key initiatives and business cases
• Generate ad-hoc reports and improve FP&A processes
• Be a champion of standardization within COE and client finance
• Manage team of junior FP&A resources

Financial Planning & Analysis

team supports & partners with Asia CFO Finance team to provide accurate and timely financial reports, and support to Asia CFO team during monthly forecast process and Annual Budgeting exercise.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

Incumbent would be responsible for partnering with business to provide relevant and accurate financial analysis to support decisions, be responsible for financial planning & forecasting for area of responsibility, perform financial due-diligence on contractual spend and cover month end close activities for area of responsibility.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparing timely and accurate reports on financial performance on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis for the defined area of responsibility
• Supporting month-end closing activities including monitoring of accruals, invoice payments, prepayments, re-classes and balance sheet reconciliations
• Publish reports in accordance with agreed calendar
• Identify and highlight Variances on financial results vs Forecast, Plan and Previous Year
• Performing analysis on Account code, department, vendors for key cost components on a monthly basis. such as Travel, variance analysis
• Analyse current and past financial data and provide analysis on trends
• Analyse and develop reports on sales and other operational performance Metrices
• Work closely with Asia CFO Finance team on forecasting, planning and business analysis for the business unit or area of responsibility
• Supporting annual budgeting process, including designing of templates and review of planning assumptions
• Support in Calculating Regional Cost allocation based on the principles defined by Asia CFO team
• Provide relevant and accurate financial analysis on a timely basis to key stakeholders to support decisions
• Supporting the financial review of key initiatives focused on driving business performance, including the creation and analysis of business cases

• Generate ADHOC Reports within the agreed Turn Around Time
• Maintaining and improving processes supporting financial planning and analysis activities
• Preparing and distributing other KPI/metric related information to key stakeholders
• Be flexible to support Regional/Global Finance team as required
• Develop expertise on finance tools used for financial and Ops data recording and reporting like TM1, Q
• Act as a champion of standardization within the team and across the COE and client finance
• Manage team of Junior FPA resources

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

• TM1, PeopleSoft, and Cognos skills would be an advantage
• Ability to organize and analyze large volumes of data, perform data reconciliations
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, under tight deadlines
• Ability to organize financial data and present clear and concise analysis to senior executives
• Ability to effectively interact with both internal and external contacts in person, by e-mail and phone.
