Job summary

State Street in Pune is seeking an Income COE Officer to support Client Operations and other operational Shared Service teams by monitoring and processing custody, accounting, and middle office events to keep fund records accurate and timely. You will ensure prompt follow-up on exceptions and help mitigate risk while delivering excellent service to clients.

You will drive process improvements, manage resources, monitor KPIs, and lead a team within the operations function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce / Economics with a specialization in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Inter CA / ICWAI or CFA (pursuing) preferred.
  • 10-16 years' experience in accounting, finance or mutual fund operations.

Responsibilities

  • Process Optimization: identify and implement improvements to streamline operations, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Resource Management: manage resources (people, budget, technology) effectively to achieve objectives.
  • Performance Monitoring: track KPIs and drive corrective actions as needed.
  • Team Leadership: lead and develop a team within the operations department.
  • Collaboration: work with executive teams to ensure alignment across the organization.
  • Quality Control: ensure operations deliver high-quality products/services meeting customer needs.
  • Risk Management: identify and mitigate operational risks.
  • Deep knowledge of Income and Corporate Actions: end-to-end income cycle, fund accounting, settlements, dividends, and related regulations.

Job description

Who we are looking for

As an Income COE Officer, the ideal candidate will support and assist Client Operations and other operational Shared Service teams/ Center of Excellence (COE's) by monitoring and processing custody, accounting, middle office related events to the fund's records accurately and timely. Ensure prompt follow up on exception situations and facilitate timely problem resolution to mitigate risk to the corporation and deliver excellent service to clients and people management.

Income COE deals with end to end processing of events across custody, accounting, middle office and claims services for our clients. This involves processing of many financial activities which will help other team to derive at NAV to the client, As part of Income COE you will be required to contribute towards development of Process, people and Improve Risk standards for the team.

What you will be responsible for

As Officer you will:

  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement improvements to streamline operations, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.

  • Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement, taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of managers and staff within the operations department.
  • Collaboration: Work with other executive teams to ensure alignment and coordination across the organization.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the company's operations deliver high-quality products or services that meet customer needs.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential operational risks.
  • Deep knowledge of Income and Corporate Actions: Understanding the end to end income cycle, fund accounting, amortization, concepts on bonds, dividends, entitlement calculations , amortization, market and loan claims lifecycle, middle office operations and relevant regulations.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce / Economics with a specialization n Business, Accounting, Finance or another Financial related program. Inter C.A. / Inter ICWAI or CFA (pursuing) will be preferred
  • 10-16 years' experience in accounting, finance, mutual fund operations, loan servicing or related careers (preferred).
