Airbus India is offering an apprenticeship opportunity for the position of In-Service Engineer: Structures. The role is based in Bangalore at Titanium Tech Park within the In-Service Engineering department, which focuses on airframe repair design and analysis.
This program is planned for a duration of 12 months and is expected to begin in July 2026 (start date may be flexible). Apprentices will work with experienced engineers and gain practical exposure to aircraft structural repair activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer requests and damage reports received from Airbus operators.
- Propose suitable repair solutions and develop repair design concepts.
- Carry out stress calculations including static, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis for the proposed repairs.
- Prepare approval documentation and support the internal approval process.
Throughout the apprenticeship, a dedicated tutor will guide you in defining professional objectives and strengthening your engineering skills.
Skills and Learning Areas
- Methods used in airframe design and structural stress analysis.
- Certification specifications and aviation regulatory requirements related to aircraft structures.
- Problem solving approaches including reverse engineering techniques.
Eligibility Criteria
- Fresh graduate with a technical undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- This program is intended for candidates with no prior full-time professional work experience. Academic projects and internships are acceptable.
- Ability to commit to the full 12 month apprenticeship period.
- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Technical Knowledge
- Aircraft structures design including drafting and GD&T concepts.
- Strength of materials and structural analysis covering strength and stability.
- Fracture mechanics and fatigue analysis.
Fluency in English is required. Airbus also expects employees to maintain awareness of compliance requirements and demonstrate integrity in all professional activities.
