Responsibilities

• Manage the complete import cycle from PO placement to delivery.
• Coordinate with international suppliers, freight forwarders, brokers, and carriers.
• Prepare and verify import documents (invoice, packing list, B/L/AWB, CO, insurance).
• Ensure compliance with customs and regulatory regimes (DGFT, FSSAI, GST).
• Monitor shipments, address delays, and coordinate customs clearance.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Import Manager to oversee the complete import process for food ingredients and raw materials. The ideal candidate will manage international suppliers, ensure regulatory compliance, coordinate logistics, optimize import costs, and ensure timely delivery of shipments while maintaining high standards of documentation and communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete import cycle from purchase order placement to final delivery.
• Coordinate with international suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines, and transporters.
• Handle import documentation including Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading/Airway Bill, Certificate of Origin, Insurance Certificate, and other shipping documents.
• Ensure compliance with Customs, DGFT, FSSAI, GST, and other applicable import regulations.
• Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or logistics issues.
• Coordinate customs clearance and ensure timely release of cargo.
• Monitor import costs including freight, customs duty, IGST, demurrage, detention, and inland transportation.
• Negotiate competitive freight rates and logistics contracts.
• Maintain accurate import records, shipment status reports, and cost analysis.
• Work closely with the Procurement, Finance, Warehouse, Quality Assurance, and Sales teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Plan inventory replenishment based on sales forecasts and lead times.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with overseas suppliers and logistics partners.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
• Prepare MIS reports on shipment status, import costs, vendor performance, and inventory planning.
