Impact Fundraise Manager
Purpose of the Job:
The Fundraising Manager is responsible for mobilizing financial and non-financial resources to support the organizations CSR and social impact objectives, while ensuring ethical integrity, donor trust, compliance, and long-term sustainability. The role exists to convert purpose into resources and resources into impact, without compromising values.
Role Overview:
The Impact Fundraise Manager will design and execute a diversified fundraising strategy across corporates, foundations, HNIs, institutional donors, and employee giving platforms. The role is accountable for donor acquisition, stewardship, grant compliance, and building a sustainable funding ecosystem within Indian regulatory frameworks (Companies Act, FCRA, 12A, 80G).

Job Responsibilities:
1. Fundraising Strategy & Planning
- Develop a 35 years fundraising plan aligned with:
- Organizational mission
- Program priorities
- Geographic focus
- Prepare annual fundraising plans with:
- Targets by source
- Risk diversification
- Cost of fundraising benchmarks
- Identify funding gaps and opportunities proactively
2. Donor and Funder Acquisition
- Identify, research, and engage:
- Corporate CSR heads
- Foundations & Trusts
- HNIs & family offices
- Prepare compelling:
- Concept notes
- Proposals
- Pitch decks
- Plan and execute Employee Giving Programs
- Raise CSR funding from large corporates and SMEs, International foundations and multilaterals
- Plan and execute segmented donations: Profession segmentation, Like Doctors, Lawyers, Automobiles
- Position the organization as a credible, ethical, and impact-driven partner
3. Donor Relationship Management and Stewardship
- Build long-term, trust-based donor relationships
- Ensure timely:
- Reports
- Utilisation updates
- Impact stories
- Design donor engagement journeys (visits, reviews, recognition)
- Handle donor feedback and concerns empathetically, rationally and professionally
4. Institutional Grants and Compliance
- Manage institutional grants end-to-end:
- Proposal contract reporting closure
- Coordinate with Finance & Programs to ensure:
- Accurate utilisation
- Compliance with donor conditions
- Support FCRA compliance (if applicable)
- Maintain grant documentation and audit readiness
5. Internal Collaboration and Capacity Building
- Work with Programs team and communications team to:
- Translate field realities into fundable narratives
- Support Communications team with:
- Impact content
- Annual reports
- Build fundraising awareness internally
- Mentor junior fundraising staff (if any)
6. Ethical Fundraising and Governance
- Ensure all fundraising adheres to:
- Organizational values
- Ethical fundraising principles
- Conflict-of-interest policies
- Decline funding that compromises mission or integrity
- Maintain transparency with donors and Board
Required and Desired Skills and Experience:
- Educational Qualifications: Masters degree preferred in Management / Social Work / Public Policy / Development Studies. Relevant certifications in CSR / Fundraising (desirable).
Experience: 712 years in fundraising, CSR partnerships, or resource mobilization, Proven track record of raising funds from corporates and foundations, Strong understanding of Indian CSR ecosystem, Established donor network preferred
