Job summary

KSB Company, Pimpri, India, seeks an experienced engineer to design hydraulic and mechanical centrifugal pumps for API and Non-API applications. You will perform pressure boundary analyses, shaft and tie-rod checks, and thermal assessments, using ANSYS and CAD tools to develop robust vane profiles and volutes.

Qualifications

• Experience in hydraulic and mechanical pump design for API and Non-API applications.
• Ability to perform pressure boundary, shaft, tie-rod, torsional and heat dissipation analyses.
• Capable of CFD/CFD-based pump performance simulations and optimization.
• Review existing designs and implement improvements using vane profiles and volutes.
• Lead design, development, manufacturing and testing of prototypes with BOM creation.
• Coordinate with planning, operations, purchase, test field and quality teams to meet timelines.

• Design centrifugal pumps for API and non-API applications.
• Perform pressure boundary and structural analyses using ANSYS.
• Run CFD simulations to analyze Flow-Head and NPSH in pumps.
• Improve vane profiles and volute geometry for performance gains.
• Lead prototype development from design to testing and documentation.
• Prepare analysis reports for customer submissions and internal reviews.

Job description

1. To work on hydraulic and mechanical design of Centrifugal pumps for API and Non-API applications.

2. To perform the following calculations manually and / or through Ansys: Pressure Boundary calculations, shaft strength calculations, tie-rod calculations, torsional analysis, lateral analysis, heat dissipation analysis etc. for centrifugal pumps.

3. To simulate performance of centrifugal pumps including Flow-Head, NPSH by using Ansys – Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

4. To review the performance of existing design using CFD and identify and implement solutions to improve the performance. Using the available design software for development of new vane profiles and volutes.

5. Leading the assigned projects for design, development, manufacturing and testing of proto types. This includes creation of Basic design of vane profiles and geometry, 3D models, manufacturing drawings, Bill of Materials etc. This also includes co-ordination with other functions like Planning, Operations, Purchase, Test field and Quality Management etc to ensure the timely completion of manufacturing and testing of the proto type.

6. Supporting other functions like Product Management & Product Support in creating analysis reports that may be required for customer submission for orders under execution.
