Job summary

SBM Offshore is seeking an experienced HSSE Manager for SBM India to oversee health, safety, security and environment matters. You will support senior management, drive policy development, and ensure compliance with project-specific safety codes and guidelines on local projects.

You will conduct internal/external safety audits, participate in incident investigations, and provide guidance to the Data Analyst on safety statistics and improvement plans.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Health, Safety, Security and Environment and Fire Services in Oil and Gas.
• Construction site HSSE experience is required.
• Knowledge of HSSE management systems, environmental discharges, incident command, TapRoot, and HSSE auditing techniques.
• Industrial hygiene and ISO 14001:2015 / ISO 45001:2018 familiarity.

Purpose

• The HSSE Manager SBM India monitors HSSE matters related to the local project team members and contractors in ensuring that the Project complies with the project requirement i.e. specification, safety code and other policies/guidelines related to the project. He will report any issue / deviation to the Project HSSE Manager.
• As HSSE Manager for SBM India, you will support SBM India growth for all health, safety, security and environment matters.

Responsibilities

• You support Senior Management in the development of HSSE Policy and Guidelines.
• You assist Senior Management in defining local organizational roles and responsibilities, particularly concerning safety aspects.
• When requested, you support Senior Management in the issuance of HSSE Management System process and procedures.
• You ensure the local implementation, updating, review, and auditing of the Company HSSE Systems, in line with corporate guidelines.
• You monitor the effective implementation of appropriate Safety and Environmental System procedures and ensure they are updated in line with changes in legislation and Company Directives.
• You motivate and familiarize SBM India personnel with the importance of adhering to Company system procedures and using all provided Safety equipment.
• When requested, you assist the Commercial, and Engineering Departments in their dealings with Clients regarding Health and Safety at work.
• You conduct internal and external safety audits.
• You participate in accident/incident investigations.
• You provide directions to the Data Analyst, analyze accident/incident statistics, identify trends, and suggest improvement plans.
• You support the Office HSSE Advisor when required.
• You conduct in-house safety training for SBM India personnel.
• You perform HSSE audits on construction yards, Vendors and Sub-contractors.
• You liaise with Clients on safety-related issues.
• You provide safety-related engineering input into new projects and modification programs.
• You participate in HAZOP meetings prior to procurement and installation activities.
• You participate in HAZID meetings prior to installation and construction activities.
• You perform Risk Assessments.
• You provide Safety support and advice, including supervision in preparing plans and procedures for initial contract start-up activities.
• When requested, act as Project HSSE Manager for small-size projects.

Education

• Minimum Bachelor Degree (MSc preferred) in Science/Engineering or equivalent with additional professional qualifications in HSSE and Fire Safety Management Systems

Experience

• 10 or more years of experience in Health, Safety, Security and Environment and Fire Services in the Oil and Gas industry.
• Previous HSSE experience in Construction site environment.
• Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems, Environmental Discharges, Incident Command System, Incident Investigation by using TapRoot, HSSE Auditing Techniques
• Industrial Hygiene, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.
