Ludic is seeking an HR Generalist to own people operations for a small corporate team and warehouse staff in Ahmedabad. This hands-on role spans payroll inputs, onboarding, attendance, compliance, and employee relations, with a startup mindset and a blank-slate HR build.
You will handle recruitment, onboarding, performance tracking, and engagement initiatives while aligning with business priorities. This role requires a proactive communicator and willingness to work across office and warehouse
Ludic is a lifestyle. It is a collective that values making a statement and looking bold while doing so. Here’s to discovering untapped potential, the spirit of limitless exploration, and to always being on the move. Here’s to being #alwaysatplay
Ludic is looking for an HR Generalist who can be the single point of ownership for people operations across a small, young corporate team and a warehouse/skilled-labour workforce. This is not a policy-writing desk job; it's a hands-on role for someone who is equally comfortable sitting with a 24-year-old designer to talk through their quarterly goals and standing on the warehouse floor sorting out an attendance or PF query with our packing staff.
We're an early-stage, design-led consumer brand, which means the person in this seat has to build HR muscle from a fairly blank slate; systems, rhythms, and trust; while keeping day-to-day operations (payroll inputs, compliance, attendance, onboarding) running without hiccups.
End-to-end hiring for both corporate roles and warehouse/skilled-labour positions; sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer rollout
Building a repeatable, low-friction onboarding process for two very different employee experiences (young creative/ops team vs. warehouse staff)
Set up and run a lightweight goal-setting and KPI framework across teams; something a fast-moving startup can actually stick to, not a heavy corporate appraisal system
Run regular check-ins, track progress against goals, and coach managers on giving feedback
Help translate business priorities into individual/team goals each quarter
Own statutory compliance for the warehouse/labour workforce; PF, ESIC, minimum wages, shops & establishment, labour law adherence, and required registers/documentation
Keep employment contracts, policies, and HR documentation audit-ready
Liaise with consultants/auditors as needed for compliance filings
Be a genuine point of connection for a young team; understand what motivates them, spot flight risks early, and build an environment people want to stay in
Manage a small HR/admin team and coordinate closely with warehouse supervisors
Run engagement initiatives suited to a small, high-energy team (not generic corporate engagement calendars)
Attendance, leave management, payroll inputs, exits and full-and-final settlements
Maintain HR MIS/trackers and report key metrics (attrition, headcount, hiring TAT) to leadership
Handle grievances and conflict resolution across both employee groups with fairness and discretion
3–6 years in an HR Generalist role, ideally with exposure to both white-collar teams and blue-collar/warehouse or factory-floor workforces
Working knowledge of statutory compliance (PF, ESIC, labour laws, shops & establishment); not just theoretical, has actually filed/managed it
Demonstrated experience setting KPIs/goals and running a performance management cycle, even an informal one
Sharp, clear communicator; equally able to write a policy note and have a direct, human conversation with a 22-year-old team member or a warehouse supervisor
Comfortable with ambiguity and building processes from scratch; this is an early-stage environment, not a mature HR function
Prior experience in a startup, D2C/retail brand, or manufacturing/warehouse-adjacent business is a strong plus
Based in or willing to relocate to Ahmedabad; comfortable splitting time between office and warehouse
Experience with HRMS tools for attendance/payroll (any standard platform)
Exposure to a young, fast-growing consumer brand or lifestyle/fashion company
Basic understanding of retail/warehouse operations rhythms (peak season hiring, shift patterns, etc.)
