The HR SuccessFactors Solution Manager owns the product direction, solution design and business value of Evident's SAP SuccessFactors suite. The role decides how HR processes are built in the system, what gets built and in what order, and is accountable for the design integrity, security and adoption of the platform across regions.
Working with HR leaders, functional process owners, Finance, Legal, Cybersecurity and regional business partners, the Solution Manager turns business needs into prioritized roadmap items and solution designs, and makes the trade‑off calls between competing requests. The incumbent challenges requirements early and holds the line on standard SAP functionality unless a business case supports an exception.
Hands‑on configuration, support and report building are carried out by the managed service provider, SAP, implementation partners and technical specialists. The Solution Manager directs that work through clear requirements, design review and acceptance, and remains accountable for the outcome.
Key Accountabilities
Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership and Roadmap
- Own the SuccessFactors product roadmap, aligned to the HR strategy and the Corporate Applications roadmap, and set priorities with HR leaders and business partners.
- Build business cases for new modules, releases and enhancements covering value, cost, risk and sequencing, and take them to HR leadership and IT governance for approval.
- Define success measures for each module, such as adoption, process cycle time, data quality and user satisfaction, and report results to stakeholders.
- Review each SAP release, decide which features to adopt, defer or switch off, and plan the rollout with the business.
- Contribute to annual budget planning and track partner and licensing spend against the approved plan.
Solution Design Authority
- Make and document the design decisions for SuccessFactors, including data model, workflows, business rules, role‑based permissions and dependencies between modules, with the reasoning recorded in a decision log.
- Chair design reviews with HR, IT and partners, and approve or reject proposed configuration before build begins.
- Apply a fit‑to‑standard approach and approve custom solutions only where the business case justifies the long‑term support cost.
- Set integration requirements with Enterprise Architecture and the ERP team for connections to other enterprise systems (APIs, SAP CPI, Boomi), and review partner designs for the build.
- Define the security and access model with Cybersecurity and Legal, and approve role design in line with company policy and data protection rules in each country of operation.
Business Partnership
- Serve as the primary point of contact for HR leaders and functional owners on SuccessFactors, and advise on process design before any configuration starts.
- Run discovery and design workshops, turn process needs into requirements, and present solution options with their trade‑offs.
- Resolve conflicting priorities across HR functions and regions, and communicate each decision and its rationale.
- Define reporting and analytics requirements with HR, Finance and People Analytics, including metric definitions and data sources, and direct the build of dashboards and reports.
- Own the adoption and training approach with HR so that new processes land with end users and HR staff.
Delivery Governance and Service Oversight
- Direct the managed service provider, SAP and implementation partners: write requirements, review configuration, approve test results and sign off go‑live readiness.
- Set quality standards for testing, data integrity audits and release readiness, review audit findings and decide on remediation.
- Oversee incident and problem management for SuccessFactors, and drive recurring issues to root‑cause fixes with SAP and the service provider.
- Maintain current solution documentation covering design decisions, processes and configuration standards.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
