The Personality Test will carry 30 marks and will be held at the HPPSC office in Shimla. Final ranking will be determined using the marks obtained in the Subject Aptitude Test and Personality Test.
The notified examination station is Shimla. However, HPPSC may change or allot a different examination centre depending on administrative requirements and the availability of computer test laboratories.

The prescribed age limit is 18 to 45 years as of 1 January 2026. Applicable age relaxation will be provided according to the notification and government rules.
Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade and should have qualified NET, SLET or SET, subject to the prescribed exemptions.
NET, SLET or SET is generally required. However, candidates holding a qualifying Ph.D. degree may receive an exemption if they fulfil all the conditions mentioned in the notification and applicable regulations.
