Job summary

IDIADA Automotive Technology is seeking engineers to support vehicle type approval and COP activities in line with Indian and European regulations. You will prepare documentation, coordinate testing with clients and agencies, and assist in test reporting and audits.

The role requires travel to test facilities and client locations, strong coordination, and fluency in English, Hindi, and a local language. A mechanical engineering degree is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or related field.
• Valid Driving License for Motorcycle and LMV-NT.
• Fluency in English, Hindi, and local language.

Responsibilities

• Support Type Approval / COP activities for vehicles per Indian and European regulations.
• Assist in preparing documentation and applications for Type Approval of components and vehicles.
• Coordinate testing activities and schedules with clients and test agencies.
• Support management of storage and logistics for test samples and test vehicles.
• Coordinate with inspectors and officers at test agencies (ARAI/VRDE/CIRT/ICAT) for test scheduling and execution.
• Witness tests at client sites or test agencies and provide technical support during test prep, maintenance, and repairs.
• Assist in preparation of test reports and related documentation after tests.
• Support factory inspections and initial audits with basic understanding of quality management systems.

Job description

• Assist in preparing documentation and applications for Type Approval of components and vehicles
• Coordinate testing activities and schedules with clients and test agencies
• Support management of storage and logistics for test samples and test vehicles
• Coordinate with inspectors and officers at test agencies (ARAI/VRDE/CIRT/ICAT) for test scheduling and execution
• Witness tests at client sites or test agencies and provide technical support during test preparation, maintenance, and repairs
• Assist in preparation of test reports and related documentation following test completion
• Support factory inspections and initial audits with basic understanding of quality management systems

Requirements:

Experience & Education:

• Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in automotive testing, homologation, or vehicle certification
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or related field

Technical Skills:

• Basic understanding of vehicle categories and automotive systems
• Familiarity with test specifications and regulations (AIS, ECE, FMVSS, or OEM specifications)
• Knowledge of homologation documentation processes (training will be provided)
• Basic understanding of quality management systems (ISO 9000/ISO TS 16949 awareness preferred)

Essential Requirements:

• Valid Driving License for Motorcycle and LMV-NT (Light Motor Vehicle - Non-Transport)
• Fluency in English, Hindi, and local language
• Willingness to travel to test facilities and client locations
• Strong coordination and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to test agencies such as ARAI/VRDE/CIRT/ICAT
• Previous experience in automotive testing or certification environment
