Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in the relevant subject.
• B.Ed. is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of CBSE curriculum, pedagogy and teacher development.
• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in the relevant subject.
• Minimum 1 year of HOD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Onboard, mentor and onboard new teachers; ensure classroom readiness.
• Conduct daily subject-specific training to improve pedagogy and subject knowledge.
• Mentor teachers on classroom management, lesson planning and student engagement.
• Deliver at least two classroom periods daily to model best practices.
• Review and correct notebooks to monitor academic quality.
• Travel across branches within the zone and provide academic support.
• Act as substitute teacher when needed to ensure uninterrupted learning.
• Submit regular academic reports to the reporting manager.

About the Role

K12 Techno Services Pvt. Ltd. is looking for experienced, passionate, and academically strong Heads of Department (HOD) to drive subject excellence across schools within their assigned zones. The role requires strong instructional leadership, teacher mentoring, classroom observation, academic monitoring, and quality assurance to ensure consistent academic standards across all branches.

The HOD will be responsible for developing teachers, improving classroom practices, monitoring notebook corrections, conducting regular training sessions, and ensuring effective curriculum implementation while maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all newly joined teachers are effectively onboarded, mentored, and classroom‑ready.
• Conduct daily subject‑specific training sessions to enhance teachers' pedagogical skills and subject knowledge.
• Mentor teachers on effective classroom management, lesson planning, student engagement, and teaching methodologies.
• Deliver a minimum of two classroom periods every day to demonstrate best teaching practices.
• Review and correct a minimum of 100 student notebooks every day to monitor academic quality and consistency.
• Track notebook correction status of teachers across the assigned subject and ensure pending corrections are completed within timelines.
• Maintain detailed reports on notebook corrections, classroom observations, teacher performance, and training conducted.
• Visit assigned school branches as per the zonal plan (one branch per day) and provide academic support.
• Act as a substitute teacher whenever there is an unexpected teacher absence to ensure uninterrupted learning.
• Support Principals and Academic Coordinators in improving classroom delivery and teacher effectiveness.
• Monitor curriculum implementation and ensure adherence to organizational academic standards.
• Identify training needs through classroom observations and performance reviews.
• Conduct demonstration classes and model teaching sessions whenever required.
• Collaborate with school leadership to improve academic outcomes and student performance.
• Submit daily, weekly, and monthly academic reports to the reporting manager.
• Perform any additional academic responsibilities assigned by the management.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in the relevant subject.
• For Mathematics & English, candidates must have Secondary School teaching experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Head of Department (HOD) will be preferred.
• Must have served at least 3 years in their most recent school.
• Should possess excellent classroom management, mentoring, leadership, and communication skills.
• Strong academic knowledge with the ability to train and coach teachers effectively.
• Ability to travel across branches within the assigned zone.
• Candidates having their own vehicle will be preferred.
• Will be assigned a base branch while supporting other branches within the zone.
• Must be capable of handling multiple academic responsibilities while maintaining high quality standards.
