Job summary

Zweizag in Chennai is seeking an HMI Application Engineer to drive UI/UX for automotive infotainment and connected car apps. You will craft wireframes, prototypes, and design systems, collaborating with product, HMI, and validation teams to ensure smooth end-to-end development.

The role focuses on touch interfaces, voice, gestures, and integration with Android Automotive OS, AOSP, and infotainment architecture, delivering engaging cockpit experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience in infotainment UI/UX design for automotive systems.
• Proficient with interactive prototyping tools and design systems.
• Ability to collaborate with product, HMI, and validation teams.

Responsibilities

• Create wireframes, mock-ups, user flows and interactive prototypes.
• Design UI/UX for automotive infotainment, connected car and mobile apps.
• Develop and maintain design systems and UI component libraries.
• Conduct user research, usability analysis and design validation.
• Design infotainment for Media, Navigation, Bluetooth, Connectivity, Telematics.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, HMI and Validation teams.
• Create designs for Touchscreen, Rotary Controller, Steering Wheel Controls, Voice Assistant, Gestures.
• Produce interactive prototypes using Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, ProtoPie, Axure RP.

Position: HMI Application Engineer

Experience: 3 to 6 Years

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create wireframes, mock‑ups, user flows, storyboards, and interactive prototypes, Design/ development release for the life cycle management according to projects milestones
• Application Design Concept Sheet making according to the minor and major modification according to vehicle spec
• Design UI/UX for automotive infotainment, connected car and companion mobile applications for car cockpit.
• Develop and maintain design systems and UI component libraries, Conduct user research, usability analysis and design validation e.g. (System design, Prototype development, cross‑functional collaboration, HMI & App design, Platform Integration, digital cockpit)
• Design infotainment applications for Media, Navigation, Bluetooth, Connectivity, Phone, Vehicle Settings, Telematics Services, EV Features, Connected Services with Android Automotive OS (AAOS), AOSP, infotainment architecture.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, HMI and Validation teams and Support end‑to‑end product development from concept to production
• To create designs for Touchscreen, Rotary Controller, Steering Wheel Controls, Voice Assistant, Gesture Interfaces
