Job summary

Expleo in Chennai is seeking a QA Tester to design, prepare and execute test scenarios, test cases and test plans for payment applications. You will perform functional, integration, system, regression, UAT and end-to-end testing, validate complete payment transaction lifecycles, and collaborate with banks, PSPs and internal teams to ensure quality before release.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and executing test scenarios for payment applications.
• Hands-on with functional, integration, system, regression and UAT testing.
• Experience validating ISO 20022 messages and payment lifecycle scenarios.
• Proficiency in verifying API requests/responses and backend data via SQL.
• Familiarity with Defect tracking and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, prepare and execute test scenarios, test cases and test plans for payment applications.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, UAT and end-to-end testing.
• Validate complete payment transaction lifecycles, including initiation, authentication, success/failure, reversals and refunds.
• Perform NPCI certification and compliance testing for payment products where applicable.
• Analyze and validate ISO 20022 messages, data elements and validations.
• Test REST/SOAP APIs using Postman or equivalent tooling.
• Validate API payloads, headers, status codes, and JSON/XML structures.
• Perform mobile application testing on Android and iOS for payment scenarios.
• Validate backend data using SQL queries and analyze logs to troubleshoot failures.
• Identify, document and track defects using JIRA and work with development teams through closure.
• Collaborate with banks, PSPs, TPAPs, payment vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Support certification, release validation, production deployment and post-production verification.

Role & responsibilities

• Design, prepare and execute test scenarios, test cases and test plans for payment applications.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, UAT and end-to-end testing.
• Validate complete payment transaction lifecycles, including:
• Transaction initiation
• Authentication and authorization
• Success and failure scenarios
• Timeouts and technical declines
• Reversals and retries
• Refunds
• Reconciliation and settlement
• Perform NPCI certification and compliance testing for payment products, where applicable.
• Analyze and validate ISO 20022 messages, message structures, mandatory/optional fields, data elements and business validations.
• Test REST/SOAP APIs using Postman or equivalent tools.
• Validate API request/response payloads, headers, status codes, JSON/XML structures and error responses.
• Perform mobile application testing on Android and/or iOS, including functional, integration, regression, compatibility and end-to-end payment scenarios.
• Validate backend transaction data using SQL/database queries.
• Analyze application, API and transaction logs to troubleshoot payment failures.
• Identify, document and track defects using tools such as JIRA and work with development teams through closure.
• Collaborate with banks, PSPs, TPAPs, payment partners, vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Support certification, release validation, production deployment and post-production verification.
• Contribute to test automation and improvement of QA processes where required.
