Job summary

Quest Global in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Piping Engineer to review and revise P&ID designs, create plot plans from 3D scans, and assign tags to equipment and piping. You will collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure drawings meet project requirements.

14 years of AutoCAD drafting experience preferred, with Plant 3D proficiency and knowledge of ASME/ASTM codes. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience as a Piping Engineer or similar role.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and Plant 3D software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Review P&IDs and 3D scans for discrepancies and markup required changes
• Review and revise P&ID designs based on redline markups
• Create plot plans from 3D scans with correct representation of equipment, piping, valves, and fittings
• Assign tags for all equipment, instruments, and piping

• Identify and document ambiguities in a structured way and communicate them to relevant stakeholders
• Guide team members on technical clarifications and issues

Key Responsibilities

• Review P&IDs and 3D scans for discrepancies and markup required changes


• Review and revise P&ID designs based on redline markups


• Create plot plans from 3D scans with correct representation of equipment, piping, valves, and fittings


• Assign tags for all equipment, instruments, and piping


• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure drawings meet project requirements


• Identify and document ambiguities in a structured way and communicate them to relevant stakeholders


• Guide team members on technical clarifications and issues


• Participate in project meetings and provide technical input where required

Required Skills & Experience

• 14 years of experience in AutoCAD 2D drafting (P&ID, PFD, GAs, etc.)


• Familiarity with applicable national and international codes (ASME, ASTM, EURO, CSA, AS, etc.)


• Ability to work effectively in diverse teams


• Adaptability to new tools and technologies


• Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
