Role & responsibilities

A. Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Manage the complete accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closures.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and MIS.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company financial policies.
• Monitor revenue, expenses, profitability, and financial performance.

B. Budgeting & Financial Planning

• Lead annual budgeting, business planning, and periodic forecasting.
• Analyse actual performance against budgets and identify variances.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations for cost optimisation and profitability improvement.
• Monitor key financial indicators, including EBITDA, gross margin, and operating expenses.

C. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

• Ensure timely compliance with applicable tax laws, GST/VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax, and other statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with statutory auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
• Manage tax filings, statutory reporting, and audit requirements.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and corporate financial policies.

D. Internal Controls & Audit

• Establish and strengthen financial controls, accounting procedures, and approval mechanisms.
• Ensure compliance with delegation of authority and company policies.
• Identify financial risks and implement appropriate corrective measures.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.

E. Working Capital & Cash Flow Management

• Manage cash flow, liquidity, and short-term funding requirements.
• Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and working capital.
• Track customer outstanding balances and overdue payments.
• Coordinate with banks on banking facilities, payments, and foreign exchange transactions, where applicable.

F. Commercial Finance & Business Support

• Work closely with Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Operations teams.
• Analyse product costing, pricing, margins, and customer profitability.
• Monitor inventory valuation, cost of goods sold, and operating expenses.
• Support business decisions through financial modelling and profitability analysis.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.

G. Group Reporting & MIS

• Prepare and submit periodic financial reports to corporate and regional management.
• Ensure accurate intercompany reconciliations and related-party reporting.
• Support consolidation and foreign currency reporting, where applicable.
• Ensure adherence to group reporting timelines and financial governance standards.

H. Team Management

• Lead and supervise the finance and accounts team.
• Establish performance objectives and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Improve finance processes, ERP utilisation, and reporting efficiency.
• Promote financial discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement.
