Job summary

Opmobility in Pune is seeking a senior finance professional to oversee financial accounting and reporting in line with Ind AS and company policies. You will supervise AR, AP, general ledger, and month-end close, ensuring timely statements and strong internal controls.

You will drive budgeting, forecasting, MIS with Oracle HFM and Excel, manage cash flow, capex capitalization, tax compliance, audits, and partnering with global management and plant finance to improve cost control and business

Responsibilities

  • Financial Accounting & Reporting: Oversee accurate accounting and reporting of all financial transactions in compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and company policies. Ensure timely and reliable financial statements and reports to support strategic decision-making.
  • Day-to-Day Accounting Operations: Supervise daily accounting functions including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), general ledger, journal entries, and bank reconciliations to ensure data integrity and adherence to internal controls.
  • AR & AP Review: Review Accounts Receivable for timely billing, collections, and credit management; oversee Accounts Payable for vendor payments, reconciliations, and compliance with internal authorization processes. Conduct periodic aging and working capital analysis.
  • Treasury and Cash Flow Management: Monitor customer receipts and vendor payments to maintain efficient cash flow and working capital. Prepare and review cash flow statements (actual vs forecast) to ensure optimal liquidity planning. Maintain strong banking relationships, manage fund movements, and ensure optimal utilization of banking facilities.
  • Capex Monitoring and Capitalization: Review and track Capex projects, ensuring correct classification and capitalization as per Ind AS 16. Maintain fixed asset registers, monitor CWIP, and ensure accurate depreciation accounting.
  • Month-End and Year-End Closing: Lead monthly and annual closing activities including reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and preparation of financial reports within strict timelines.
  • MIS, Forecasting, and Budget Reporting: Prepare and consolidate MIS reports, budgets, and financial forecasts using Oracle HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) and Excel-based tools. Perform detailed variance analysis (Actual vs Budget vs Forecast) and provide actionable insights for management decision-making.
  • Management Reporting & Performance Review: Prepare and deliver monthly performance presentations to the Engineering Director and Group Engineering Head, highlighting key financial results, cost trends, and operational variances. Present analysis with improvement recommendations to drive business and engineering efficiency.
  • Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management: Interact with the global management team on all finance-related topics including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. Collaborate closely with plant finance and cross-functional engineering teams to support financial planning, cost control, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting process. Track performance, analyze deviations, and support strategic planning and target setting.
  • Taxation: Manage Direct Tax and Indirect Tax (GST) compliance, return filing, reconciliations, and assessments. Ensure adherence to statutory deadlines and effective tax planning within the regulatory framework.
  • Audit Management: Coordinate and manage Statutory Audit, Tax Audit, Transfer Pricing Audit, and Internal Audit. Partner with auditors to ensure effective audit execution, timely completion, and implementation of recommendations.
  • SAP and Oracle Expertise: Proficient in SAP (FI/CO module) for financial accounting, cost center reporting, and asset management, and Oracle HFM for financial consolidation, MIS, budgeting, and forecasting. Drive process automation, accuracy, and system-based financial control.
  • Costing and Engineering Rate Analysis: Perform cost analysis and engineering hourly rate calculations to support pricing, project costing, and profitability assessment. Presentations for rate and discussion at various stages, Hours booking reminders and follow up,
