Job summary

Axis Bank is seeking an AVP in Strategy to partner with business, product and functions in shaping long-term priorities. The role involves advising senior leadership, supporting annual planning, and driving strategic initiatives spanning enterprise-wide programs.

You will engage across Wholesale Banking and corporate functions, bringing rigorous analysis, financial storytelling and strong communication to influence outcomes at both business and enterprise levels.

Qualifications

• MBA (or equivalent postgraduate qualification) from a premier institution with specialization in Strategy, Finance or General Management.
• Relevant experience in corporate strategy, management consulting or financial services would be preferred.
• Prior experience in Banking / BFSI, preferably with exposure to Wholesale Banking, Corporate Banking or related businesses, would again be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support formulation and execution of Bank's long-term objectives
• Lead consulting-style strategic projects involving problem structuring, hypothesis development, data analysis, insight generation and implementation planning
• Assess industry trends, competitive dynamics, regulatory developments and emerging opportunities to support leadership decision-making
• Partner with business teams to identify growth opportunities, improve business performance and solve complex strategic challenges
• Drive annual planning, strategic reviews, performance assessments and leadership presentations

About the team

The Strategy team plays a central role in shaping the Bank's medium and long-term direction. The team partners with senior leadership to define strategic priorities, drive annual planning, assess market and competitive developments, identify growth opportunities, and lead high-impact enterprise-wide initiatives. The team's work spans strategy formulation, business performance reviews, transformation programs, and execution of key strategic priorities across the Bank.

About the role

The candidate will be a part of the Strategy team and will work closely with business, product and functional leaders to support strategic decision-making and execution of key priorities.

While the role will be aligned to the Wholesale Banking Strategy vertical, the nature of the team's mandate provides significant exposure to Bank-wide strategic initiatives, enterprise transformation programs, annual planning exercises, and cross-functional priorities involving multiple businesses and corporate functions. The role offers extensive interaction with senior leadership and provides an opportunity to influence strategic outcomes at both the business and enterprise level.
