Job summary

GSPANN is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead end-to-end ecommerce architecture across platforms and integrations. You will drive architectural strategy, governance, and technical designs for scalable, secure systems while engaging stakeholders and presales teams.

The role requires strong expertise in ecommerce ecosystems, microservices, cloud platforms, and modern security practices, with a track record of delivering large enterprise applications.

Qualifications

• 18+ years overall experience with 5+ enterprise architect or similar role in ecommerce/digital environment.
• Experience with ecommerce platforms like Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Kibo, Shopify, commercetools or custom implementations.
• Strong knowledge of backend microservices, cloud platforms, and API integration.
• Excellent client-facing communication and experience in matrix/on-site-offshore models.
• TOGAF certification or equivalent enterprise architecture framework expertise.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ecommerce architecture supports high availability, performance, and scalability especially during peak shopping periods.
• Implement best practices for security and data privacy (GDPR, CCPA).
• Create and maintain architectural documentation, system diagrams, data flows, and technical specifications.
• Establish governance for architectural changes and ensure adherence to standards.
• Participate in scoping, estimation efforts, and presales activities.
• Contribute to white papers and customer demos.

Technical Skills set: Integration, e-commerce platforms

• Act as SPOC for the Architecture/Solution for end-to-end ecommerce ecosystem
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive enterprise architecture strategy for our applications involved in e-commerce ecosystem, ensuring alignment with business goals and market trends.
• Define and enforce architectural principles, guidelines, and standards that support scalable, secure, and efficient solutions.
• Drive innovation by identifying opportunities for process improvements, automation, and the adoption of new technologies like AI, machine learning, and personalization engines
• Communicate architectural strategies and decisions to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring alignment and buy-in.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Ensure the e-commerce architecture supports high availability, performance, and scalability to meet business demands, especially during peak shopping periods
• Implement best practices for security and data privacy, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
• Create and maintain detailed architectural documentation, including system diagrams, data flow diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Establish and enforce governance processes for architectural changes, ensuring consistency and adherence to standards
• Participate in scoping, estimating efforts etc.
• Contribute to white papers, blogs
• Contribute to Pres-Sales Activities
• Create and maintain detailed architectural documentation, including system diagrams, data flow diagrams, and technical specifications
• Very strong experience in designing medium to large enterprise applications
• Should have knowledge on messaging systems (Kafka, MQ, Rabbit MQ, JMS etc.),
• Exposure to Authentication, Authorization, SSO using JWT, OAuth, SAML is required.
• Experience in Pre-Sales - defining end to end solution architecture covering technical, deployment architectures and non-functional & performance aspects and drive proposals
• Experience in Retail - Ecommerce domain is mandatory
• Very strong implementation experience using Test Driven Development, Domain Driven Design, and clean code principles
• Should have client facing experience and having worked in matrix organization & onsite-offshore model
• Experience in using estimation techniques like (Use-case, FP, Story points).
• Experience in creating presentations, demos to customers and internal management team.
• Should have excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.

Required Skills

• In-depth knowledge of e-commerce platforms (e.g., Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Kibo, Shopify, commercetools, Custom implementations), integrations and related technologies.
• Strong exposure working with platforms involved in ecommerce like Product Information Management, Content management System, Order Management, Warehouse Management, Search Platform, Inventory Management, Integration Platforms, Analytics, ERP, PLM etc.
• Experience with web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Next.js).
• Strong understanding of backend technologies, microservices architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and API integration.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
• Certification in enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
