Job summary

AtkinsRéalis India is seeking a Highways Engineer to design and check highway schemes, leading a multidisciplinary team in Bangalore. You will ensure technical quality and client-focused delivery for Canada-based projects, coordinating with designers and draft staff.

The role requires a civil engineering degree, 3–10 years in highways consultancy, and proficiency in Open Roads Design, AutoCAD and MicroStation. Strong communication and adaptability to diverse environments are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Degree in Civil Engineering from a reputed College.
• Experience in the region of around 3 to 10 years in consultancy business working on highways and related features in Canada Region.
• Knowledge and Experience of applying TAC standards in Roads Design.
• Experienced user of Open Roads Design, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation.
• Experience implementing quality standards and procedures.
• A very good knowledge of working in all applications of MS Office.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Evidence of having successfully delivered highway projects.
• Holds a Masters Degree in a relevant discipline.
• Expert in the use of Open Road design software and AutoCAD/MicroStation for Highway schemes.
• Experience of the design of grade separated junctions.
• Experience of the design of pipe drainage networks.
• Working knowledge of Canada highway design standards.

Responsibilities

Your Role

You will be an Engineer within the Highways team carrying out the design and checking of a range of elements associated with highway projects. You will be responsible for:

• Project based supervision of designers and drafting staff
• Maintaining technical quality standards and mentoring junior designers
• Delivering projects to time and budget
• Liaising with Canada based customers in a responsive and client focused manner

The successful candidate will need to

• Be highly self-motivated and ambitious
• Have a track record of technical achievement and client satisfaction within the highways and bridges industry
• Be able to work with minimal supervision
• Have the ability to adapt to different cultures and working environments to build rapport with customers
• Be able to build excellent working relationships with colleagues and clients
• Have the experience of using written and spoken English within a business environment
• The position is to be based in Bangalore
