Job summary

Larsen & Toubro seeks an experienced Lead for end-to-end testing, validation, and certification of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). You will drive test strategies across cell to system levels, manage labs, ensure IEC/UL/BIS compliance, and lead RCA-driven improvements.

Collaboration with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing will be essential to deliver safe, reliable products. The role focuses on performance, reliability, and safety testing, including cycle life, abuse, and thermal runaway,

Qualifications

• 12–18 years in testing/validation.
• Strong experience in BESS / Battery / EV / Power Electronics testing.
• Exposure to system-level validation & certification.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement Test Strategy & Validation Plans (cell/module/pack/system level).
• Establish and manage testing infrastructure & labs (electrical, thermal, safety, environmental).
• Lead system-level validation: Battery, BMS, PCS, EMS, container integration.
• Ensure compliance with IEC / UL / BIS standards and certification requirements.
• Drive performance, reliability, and safety testing (cycle life, abuse, thermal runaway).
• Own test data analysis, reporting, and sign-offs for product release.
• Lead failure analysis (RCA) and validation of corrective actions.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing for design and process improvements.
• Manage external test labs, certification bodies, and customer validations.
