• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Implement VSAP and Vedanta safety standards within the department.
• Maintain plant availability as per BP.
• Follow up on housekeeping and 5S compliance in the department.
• Coordinate with other departments on demand/supply issues.
• Oversee inventory management.
• Conduct performance review meetings.
• Drive asset-optimization modules.
• Approve and execute Capex as per departmental needs.

Head Refractory - BALCO

Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO) has made significant contributions as the first PSU in India’s aluminum sector. Incorporated in 1965, BALCO operates a smelter capacity of 5.70 LTPA, power generation capacity of 2010 MW, bauxite production capacity of 6.8 MTPA, and a coal block capacity of 1 MTPA. Responsibilities

Safety

• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Implement VSAP and Vedanta safety standards within the department.

Availability

• Maintain plant availability as per BP.

Compliance

• Follow up on housekeeping and 5S compliance in the department.
• Ensure AO practices compliance.

Coordination

• Coordinate with other departments on demand/supply issues and compliance with agreed SLA.
• Communicate company policy updates to downstream teams.

Managing Parameters

• Oversee inventory management.

Performance

• Conduct performance review meetings.

Asset Optimization

• Drive asset‑optimization modules such as Work Management (WM), Condition Based Monitoring (CBM), Operate for Reliability (O4R), Defect Elimination (DE), Process Optimization (PO), Critical Asset Management & Tactics Development, and Leadership & Strategy Modules.

Capex Requirements

• Approve and execute Capex as per departmental needs.
