Job summary

Base Automation Technologies in Chennai seeks a seasoned PMO leader to manage the Project Management Office, establish governance, and drive standard methodologies across Electrical, Control Automation, Software, Digital Automation, Procurement and Commissioning teams.

The role focuses on delivering multiple automation projects on time, within budget and meet quality and safety standards, while developing project execution strategies, plans, schedules and resource allocations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the PMO and establish governance, execution methodologies, standards.
• Manage multiple automation projects with timely delivery and cost control.
• Develop execution strategies, plans, schedules, and resource allocation.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration across Electrical, Control Automation, Software, Digital Automation, Procurement, and Commissioning.
• Monitor performance via KPIs, MIS, dashboards, risk registers, and reviews.
• Identify risks and bottlenecks; implement mitigation strategies for project success.
• Review technical proposals, architecture, and deliverables pre-implementation.
• Lead project reviews with customers, stakeholders, and senior management.
• Ensure planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control across projects.
• Establish PMO processes, templates, and governance frameworks.
• Mentor PMO team to enhance execution capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with quality systems, safety standards, and customer requirements.

Job description

You will be responsible for

Lead the Project Management Office (PMO) and establish project governance, execution methodologies, standards, and best practices across the organization.

Manage multiple automation projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery, quality, cost control, and customer satisfaction.

Develop project execution strategies, project plans, schedules, milestones, and resource allocation plans.

Drive cross-functional collaboration between Electrical, Control Automation, Software Development, Digital Automation, Procurement, and Commissioning teams.

Monitor project performance through KPIs, MIS reports, dashboards, risk registers, and executive reviews.

Identify project risks, dependencies, bottlenecks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project execution.

Review technical proposals, project architecture, execution strategies, and engineering deliverables before implementation.

Lead project review meetings with customers, internal stakeholders, and senior management.

Ensure effective planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control across all projects.

Establish project management processes, documentation standards, templates, and governance frameworks.

Mentor and develop Project Engineers, and PMO team members to improve execution capabilities.

Ensure compliance with organizational quality systems, safety standards, and customer requirements.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives, process optimization, digital transformation, and innovation within project execution.

Build strong customer relationships and serve as the executive point of contact for strategic project execution and escalations. Support business growth by providing execution inputs during proposal development, estimation, and project planning.

Knowledge & Skills, we are expecting

Rockwell / Siemens hot Redundancy (Hot Back up) Soft switching (Warm developing MES Backup)

Strong expertise in Project Management, Project Governance, Risk Management, Budgeting, Resource Planning, and Stakeholder Management.

Hands-on knowledge of Industrial Automation technologies including PLC, SCADA, HMI, Drives, Servo Systems, MES, IIoT, and Industry 4.0 solutions.

Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, Jira, MS Visio, and advanced Microsoft Office.

Excellent leadership, customer management, negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills.

Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects and cross-functional engineering teams while driving continuous process improvement.
