Head Project Management (Oil & Gas EPC) based in Gujarat

A leading EPC organization in the Oil & Gas, Refineries, Petrochemicals and Energy sector is looking for an experienced Head Project Management to lead end-to-end execution of large EPC projects.

The role requires a seasoned project leader with strong expertise in project planning, execution, monitoring, client management, commercial control and timely delivery of complex EPC projects while ensuring safety, quality and profitability.

Job Objective: To lead the Project Management function by ensuring successful execution of multiple EPC projects from engineering through commissioning while achieving schedule, cost, quality and safety objectives. The role will be responsible for driving execution excellence, strengthening project governance, improving project profitability and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

• Lead end-to-end execution of multiple Oil & Gas EPC projects.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and as per contractual commitments.
• Monitor overall project performance across schedule, cost, quality and resource utilization.
• Drive execution excellence across all ongoing projects.

Project Planning & Execution

• Develop project execution strategies and implementation plans.
• Review project schedules and identify execution risks.
• Lead project reviews and monitor critical milestones.
• Resolve execution bottlenecks and accelerate project delivery.
• Drive project recovery plans wherever required.

Commercial & Financial Management

• Ensure project profitability through effective cost control.
• Monitor project budgets, cash flows and commercial performance.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and productivity improvement.
• Review project claims, variations and contractual obligations.

Stakeholder Management

• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Lead client review meetings and progress discussions.
• Ensure timely resolution of customer issues.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for seamless execution.

Cross-functional Coordination

• Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Planning, SCM, QA/QC and HSE teams.
• Ensure timely engineering deliverables and procurement support.
• Improve collaboration across functions to achieve project milestones.

Risk & Governance

• Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Conduct delay analysis and corrective action planning.
• Ensure compliance with contractual, statutory and company requirements.
• Strengthen project governance and reporting systems.

Operational Excellence

• Standardize project management processes and SOPs.
• Drive digital project monitoring and MIS reporting.
• Implement project management best practices.
• Improve productivity, resource utilization and project controls.

Leadership

• Mentor and develop Project Managers and execution teams.
• Build a high-performance, accountable project organization.
• Drive a culture of ownership, execution excellence and continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

• Engineers with 20-30+ years of experience in Oil & Gas EPC Project Management.
• Proven track record of delivering large, multidisciplinary EPC projects.
