Michael Page is recruiting a senior Sourcing & Supply Chain professional for Chennai. You will lead end-to-end procurement in aerospace/industrial sectors, shape sourcing strategies, and manage supplier relationships across global logistics.

The role emphasizes cost competitiveness, import/export operations, and collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Product teams to align supply with production plans.

• Proven experience leading end-to-end supply chain and procurement in complex manufacturing environments.
• Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiation, and global logistics.
• Experience building scalable processes and operating models in high-growth settings.
• Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet-based modelling and supply chain analytics.

Responsibilities

• Developing and executing supply chain and procurement strategies
• Leading strategic sourcing initiatives across critical engineering subsystems and components.
• Negotiating and managing long-term supplier agreements to ensure supply continuity, quality, and cost competitiveness
• Building and managing global logistics capabilities, including import-export operations and international supplier coordination
• Creating scalable procurement and supply chain processes, policies, and controls.
• Driving material planning and logistics strategies to support manufacturing and production schedules.
• Managing contract reviews, RFIs, commercial documentation, and project-related procurement activities.
• Overseeing purchase order management, cost tracking, and supply chain analytics.
• Partnering closely with Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, and Product teams to anticipate demand and support new product introductions.
• Identifying opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate should be an engineer with 8-12 years of experience and shoud have:

• Proven experience leading end-to-end supply chain and procurement functions within a complex manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, industrial, defence, or advanced engineering environment
• Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiation, and global logistics
• Demonstrated success in building scalable processes and operating models in high-growth environments
• Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet-based modelling and supply chain analytics
• Excellent communication, leadership, and people management skills
• A highly structured, hands-on and process-oriented mindset with a strong focus on execution
