Job summary

Piramal Pharma Ltd in Mumbai invites a seasoned Head of Global Business Shared Services to oversee Order to cash, Procure to pay, Master data management, Record to report, and quality for India and global operations.

You will ensure delivery at contracted levels with strong governance, driving cost, quality, and productivity while fostering collaboration with business partners. Reports to CFO; team size 13 direct, 90+ overall.

Qualifications

• CA must have
• 20+ years overall experience in finance/shared services
• 8–10 years in Shared Services/GBS/Finance Operations leadership
• Experience managing large teams and multi-location operations
• Pharma, Manufacturing, FMCG, Healthcare, Chemicals, or GBC experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Finance Shared Services operations across multiple business units and geographies.
• Build a scalable, customer-centric shared services organization aligned to growth objectives.
• Establish service delivery standards, governance frameworks, and performance metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
• Oversee GL accounting, fixed assets, intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Improve close cycle timelines and reporting quality.
• Partner with Business CFOs, Controllers, and Global Finance Teams.
• Lead transformation projects focused on productivity, quality, and cost optimization.
• Champion finance digitization initiatives using SAP and analytics platforms.

The Head of Global Business Shared Services would lead Order to cash , Procure to pay , Master data management , Record to report and Quality for Piramal Pharma India and Global.

Would be accountable for delivery of business services at contracted levels, with Strong governance for service management. Ensure smooth operations at world class levels of cost, quality, and productivity. Create a winning culture that is focused on competence, collaboration with business partners, and delivering business impact.

Will report to - CFO

Team size – 13 direct (overall team size 90+)

EXPERIENCE

Overall, 20+ years experience

Minimum 8-10 years in Shared Services, Global Business Services (GBS), Finance Operations, or Finance Transformation leadership roles.

Experience managing large teams and multi-location operations.

Pharma, Manufacturing, FMCG, Healthcare, Chemicals, or Global Capability Center experience preferred.

KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES

SHARED SERVICES LEADERSHIP

• Lead end-to-end Finance Shared Services operations across multiple business units and geographies.
• Build a scalable, customer-centric shared services organization aligned to business growth objectives.
• Establish service delivery standards, governance frameworks, and performance metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
• Oversee general ledger accounting, fixed assets, intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Improve close cycle timelines and reporting quality.

PROCURE-TO-PAY (P2P)

• Manage accounts payable operations and vendor payment processes.
• Ensure strong internal controls and compliance.
• Improve vendor experience and payment cycle efficiency.

ORDER-TO-CASH (O2C)

• Oversee billing, collections, cash application, and credit management processes.
• Improve receivable cycles and working capital efficiency.
• Monitor collection effectiveness and dispute resolution.

GOVERNANCE, CONTROLS & COMPLIANCE

• Strengthen financial controls and compliance frameworks.
• Ensure adherence to accounting policies, internal audit requirements, SOX (where applicable), and statutory regulations.
• Partner with Internal Audit, Compliance, Taxation, and External Auditors.
• Drive automation, robotics, AI-enabled finance processes, and ERP optimization.
• Lead transformation projects focused on productivity, quality, and cost optimization.
• Champion finance digitization initiatives using SAP, reporting tools, workflow automation, and analytics platforms.

STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

• Partner with Business CFOs, Controllers, Functional Leaders, and Global Finance Teams.
• Act as a strategic advisor on process excellence, service delivery, and finance operations.
• Manage relationships with external service providers and outsourcing partners.
• Lead, develop, and mentor a large finance shared services team.
• Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and customer service.
• Drive succession planning, capability building, and talent development initiatives.
• Timely month-end and year-end closures.
• Improved process efficiency and SLA adherence.
