Job summary

ArcVac ForgeCast Private Limited seeks a senior professional to lead Purchase & Stores and drive SCM modernization. You will design systems, build supplier networks, and optimize materials availability and costs in a promoter-managed steel/engineering context.

The role requires deep leadership experience (20+ years) in steel, foundry, or engineering sectors with strong negotiation, contract management, and strategic planning skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate engineer or CA with relevant experience; MBA is an added advantage.
• At least 20 years of relevant experience with a minimum of 5 years in leadership roles in steel plant, foundries and engineering in promoter-managed companies.

Responsibilities

• Develop systems and procedures for Purchase & Stores management.
• Stabilize Purchase & Stores functions and develop SCM strategy.
• Develop reliable supplier base for ferrous scrap, ferro alloys, refractories & other steel plant consumables and spares.
• Review and rationalize supplier base to drive quality and reduce costs.
• Develop and implement suppliers’ quality management KPIs.
• Ensure availability of materials at optimum cost.
• Improve delivery periods.
• Supplier base rationalization.
• Develop an effective storage system.

Job description

• To develop effective systems and procedures for professional management of the Purchase & Stores functions to relive the promoters from these activities and to support the increasing volumes.
• After stabilizing Purchase & Stores functions, to develop the strategy for implementing Supply Chain Management (SCM) in line with modern management practices and as required by key customers.
• Developing reliable supplier base for ferrous scrap, ferro alloys, refractories & other steel plant consumables and electrical and mechanical spares and components and for various services including transport contracts.
• Review and rationalization of supplier base retaining only the reliable suppliers to drive quality and optimize cost.
• Develop and implement suppliers’ quality management activities KPIs.
• Ensure availability of all materials at optimum cost.
• Improvement of delivery periods.
• Supplier base rationalization.
• Development of effective storage system.

Reportees : Over 10 executives and supervisors in Purchase & Stores

Desired Attributes:

Qualifications: A graduate engineer or CA with relevant experience (An MBA degree will be an added advantage).

Experience:

At least 20 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in leadership roles from steel plant, foundries and engineering industry in promoter managed companies.
