We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of Identity and Access Management Service Delivery.

The Opportunity

As Head of IAM Service Delivery, you’ll set the strategic direction and provide global leadership for HSBC’s Identity & Access Management (IAM) service delivery function. You’re accountable for run-the-bank IAM outcomes, ensuring effective end-to-end execution of IAM control operations across the organisation.

Operating within the first line of defense, IAM Service Delivery acts as Cybersecurity’s focal point for access-related operational activities, ensuring HSBC’s electronic assets are monitored, managed, and protected so that only authorised individuals with a legitimate business need can access or modify them—when required and in line with policy and control expectations.

This is a global leadership role, responsible for leading geographically distributed teams of IAM domain specialists and SMEs, partnering closely with technology and business stakeholders to drive operational execution, service performance, and delivery of the IAM strategy at pace.

What you’ll do

• Build and lead globally distributed, multi-disciplinary IAM Service Delivery teams (span of control of 200+ colleagues), setting clear direction, operating model, and performance expectations.
• Act as a senior member of the global IAM leadership team, collaborating across Cybersecurity, Technology, CISO organisations, HR, business stakeholders, and Risk/Compliance to deliver shared outcomes and manage priorities.
• Define and lead the IAM Service Delivery transformation roadmap, accelerating automation and self-service, standardising processes, and driving measurable operational efficiencies without weakening control effectiveness.
• Develop and sustain a high-performance culture, coaching and mentoring IAM/security professionals, strengthening succession planning, capability building, and talent retention across locations and disciplines.
• Ensure IAM control operations meet regulatory and audit expectations, maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, FISMA, PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOX) and ensuring evidence, control testing support, and remediation are executed effectively.
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder and supplier relationships, partnering with business and technology teams and managing vendors to meet service outcomes, contractual obligations, and continuous improvement goals.
• Provide clear, regular reporting to senior management, including performance metrics, control effectiveness, operational risk insights, and trend analysis across end-to-end IAM controls, highlighting issues, decisions required, and actions taken.

Customers / Stakeholders:

• Customer focus and service advocacy Lead a customer-centred culture across IAM Service Delivery, championing behaviours and initiatives that improve colleague experience and drive strong “customer advocacy”. Proactively identify opportunities to leverage Cybersecurity services to strengthen the bank’s security posture and reduce friction in access journeys.
• Strengthen stakeholder relationships and influence Build trusted relationships that enable effective decision-making and stakeholder advocacy, using organisational insight and strong engagement with IAM sub-functions and peers across Cyber Security to align priorities and remove delivery blockers.

Leadership & people:

• Managing and leading Lead and develop the IAM Service Delivery organisation, making sustainable decisions that protect and enhance HSBC’s values, reputation, and stakeholder value. Foster a strong learning culture and continuous improvement mindset. Engage authentically with a diverse stakeholder set (including Audit, Technology and Global Businesses) and with external vendors to influence outcomes that work for all parties.
• Collaboration Champion cross-business and cross-cultural collaboration, enabling joined-up delivery in the best interests of customers, colleagues, and the bank.

Operational effectiveness & control:

• Managing risk responsibly Govern operational and control risks responsibly across regions and business areas. Promote ethical risk management, communicate changes in policy and governance clearly, and reinforce consistent risk processes and behaviours across the team.
• Financial and budget management Own and manage the Service Delivery budget, translating strategic financial information into clear planning and performance decisions. Monitor programme/service financial performance, surface the financial implications of risks and issues early, engage stakeholders, and manage budget variance appropriately.

What you will need to succeed in the role

• 18+ years of relevant technology management experience, with a strong focus on Identity and Access Management.
• Deep understanding of IAM domain and best practices and experience in running end-to-end operational execution.
• Significant experience in a cybersecurity/IAM leadership role, including running a global function with geographically dispersed teams.
• Demonstrable experience shaping and executing IAM strategy, including delivery of large-scale transformation and automation/self-service outcomes.
• Proven ability to balance and deliver Run-the-Bank (RTB) operations and Change-the-Bank (CTB) priorities effectively, with strong cost and capacity management.
• Strong people leadership skills with a track record of building, inspiring, and motivating high-performing teams (including workforce planning and talent development).
• Strong stakeholder management capability, able to build trusted relationships and influence across Technology, Cybersecurity, HR, Legal, Audit, Risk and business leadership.
• Strong understanding of business finance, with experience managing budgets, expenditure, and forecasting; able to articulate financial impacts of risks, issues, and delivery trade-offs.
• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• CISSP or CISM preferred.
