Job summary

Deutsche Telekom Digital Labs seeks a senior Platform Product Leader to own the platform vision and build scalable, API-first capabilities across multiple product lines. You will partner with Engineering, Architecture, Design, Security, and Business teams to drive adoption and technical excellence.

You will recruit and mentor Product Managers, foster ownership and accountability, and guide investments that balance short-term delivery with long-term platform health and sustainability.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of Product Management experience with significant platform leadership experience.
• Proven track record building scalable platform capabilities for multiple product teams.
• Strong coaching, mentoring, and execution capabilities across large teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the long-term platform product strategy aligned with business and technology goals.

What exactly is the objective of this role?

We are looking for a Builder-at-Heart. You aren't just managing internal platforms or

technology roadmaps—you are responsible for building the foundational capabilities

that power the entire product ecosystem. You are a practitioner who thrives on

technical complexity, understands platform thinking, and can create scalable, reusable

services that enable multiple product lines and business functions.

You are a strategic leader who partners deeply with Engineering, Architecture, Design,

Security, and Business stakeholders to build reliable, extensible, and future-ready

platform capabilities. Most importantly, you are willing to get your hands dirty to solve

highly complex, organization-wide challenges and drive execution at scale.

What will be my Key Responsibilities?

Own the Platform Vision

• Define and execute the long-term platform product strategy aligned with business and technology objectives.
• Build shared capabilities, services, APIs, and infrastructure that accelerate
• Establish platform success metrics around adoption, reliability, scalability, developer experience, operational efficiency, and business enablement.

Architect for Scale

• Lead the evolution of core platform capabilities from 0-to-1 and 1-to-100, enabling scalable, secure, and resilient systems.
• Drive modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy systems to modular, API-first, cloud-native architectures.
• Partner with Engineering and Architecture to ensure platform investments

Build World-Class Platform Products

• Own the platform product portfolio including shared services, internal developer platforms, integrations, APIs, identity, data platforms, and foundational capabilities.
• Prioritize platform investments based on business impact, engineering productivity, platform adoption, and customer outcomes.
• Balance short-term delivery with long-term platform health and technical sustainability.

Build and Lead High-Performing Teams

• Recruit and develop exceptional Product Managers with strong platform and technical product management expertise.
• Coach teams on platform product thinking, customer-centricity (internal and external), technical decision-making, and execution excellence.
• Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement while maintaining a high performance bar.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Drive alignment across Engineering, Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, Data, Design, Operations, and Business stakeholders.
• Influence executive leadership on platform investment priorities and technology
• Lead complex cross-functional programs involving multiple product teams and
• Stay deeply engaged in architectural discussions, platform design reviews, prioritization, and execution.
• Translate business needs into scalable platform capabilities while ensuring simplicity, extensibility, and operational excellence.
• Drive critical platform initiatives from concept through successful adoption across the organization.
• 12+ years of Product Management experience, with significant experience leading Platform.
• Proven track record of building scalable platform capabilities that serve multiple product teams and business domains.

Strong Technical Depth

• Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud architecture, APIs, microservices, data platforms, security, identity, integration patterns, and modern software architecture.
• Comfortable engaging in technical discussions, challenging architectural decisions, and partnering closely with Engineering on solution design.
• Strong systems thinking with the ability to balance scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Demonstrated success in building and scaling high-performing product organizations.
• Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities with experience developing future product leaders.
• Ability to attract, retain, and inspire top product talent while maintaining a high-performance culture.

Strategic Influence

• Experience leading large-scale cross-functional transformation initiatives across Engineering, Product, and Business teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to influence senior leadership and align diverse teams around a shared platform vision.
• Comfortable operating in complex, fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Proven ability to challenge legacy thinking, simplify complexity, and drive organizational transformation through strong
