Job summary

Kamdhenu Adhesive is seeking a hands-on, high-ownership leader to run our manufacturing plant and supply chain operations. You will bring structure to the shop floor, drive production targets, troubleshoot quickly, and build a strong team of supervisors and operators who can take greater ownership.

You will work with the leadership team to ensure efficient production, workforce management, quality, dispatch, inventory availability, maintenance, and overall plant performance.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing plant operations.
  • Experience leading production teams, supervisors, and operators.
  • Strong familiarity with production planning, shift management, and dispatch.
  • High ownership mindset and proactive problem solving.
  • Ability to work on the shop floor and take quick decisions.
  • Experience in adhesives, chemicals, cement, paints, or building materials is preferred.

  • Formulate and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.
  • Drive output, productivity, capacity utilization, and schedules.
  • Monitor targets, gaps, bottlenecks, and corrective actions.
  • Design production-linked incentive schemes with leadership.
  • Oversee shift planning, manpower deployment, and attendance.
  • Ensure quality adherence and coordination with Quality Lead.
  • Coordinate material planning and dispatch with relevant teams.

Job description

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on, high-ownership leader to take charge of our manufacturing plant and supply chain operations.

This role is ideal for someone who can bring structure and discipline to the shop floor, drive production and operational targets, troubleshoot problems quickly, and build a strong team of supervisors and operators who can take greater ownership.

The person will work closely with the leadership team and functional leads to ensure efficient production, workforce management, quality, dispatch, inventory availability, maintenance, and overall plant performance.

Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Target Achievement
  • Formulate and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on business requirements.
  • Drive production output, productivity, capacity utilization, and adherence to production schedules.
  • Monitor target achievement and identify gaps, bottlenecks, and corrective actions.
  • Design and implement appropriate production-linked incentive schemes in coordination with the leadership team.
  • Ensure efficient utilisation of manpower, machinery, materials, and production capacity.
2. Workforce & Shift Management
  • Own shift planning, manpower deployment, attendance, and workforce availability.
  • Manage supervisors, operators, contract labour, and other plant personnel.
  • Ensure timely processing of wages and effective coordination on employee and labour‑related matters.
  • Build a culture of accountability, discipline, safety, and ownership on the shop floor.
  • Identify training needs and develop supervisors and operators to take greater responsibility.
3. Quality & Dispatch
  • Ensure adherence to defined quality standards and production protocols in coordination with the Quality Lead (Amar).
  • Work closely with the quality team to identify recurring quality issues and implement corrective measures.
  • Plan and coordinate finished goods availability, billing, and dispatch with the relevant teams.
  • Ensure dispatch commitments are met without compromising quality or operational efficiency.
4. Supply Chain & Material Planning
  • Monitor raw material availability and production requirements to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Coordinate raw material planning with procurement and other relevant teams.
  • Track SKU availability and ensure production is aligned with demand and dispatch requirements.
  • Identify potential material shortages and operational constraints proactively.
5. Plant Expenses & Operational Efficiency
  • Monitor and control factory operating expenses.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce wastage, and optimise manpower and resource utilisation.
  • Maintain operational discipline around plant costs, consumables, and other expenses.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
6. KPI & Performance Management
  • Establish and monitor key daily, weekly, and monthly operational metrics.
  • Track KPIs including:
    • Production vs. target
    • Labour availability and productivity
    • Shift utilisation
    • SKU availability
    • Raw material availability
    • Machine downtime
    • Quality issues/rejections
    • Dispatch performance
    • Operational bottlenecks
    • Factory expenses
  • Provide regular performance updates to the leadership team and drive timely corrective action.
7. Machine, Maintenance & Vendor Management
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs, machine installations, and commissioning.
  • Ensure minimum downtime and quick resolution of equipment breakdowns.
  • Manage external maintenance, service, and equipment vendors.
  • Work with the team to identify recurring equipment issues and improve machine reliability.
What Were Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing plant, with significant responsibility for production and plant operations.
  • Experience managing production teams, supervisors, operators, and labour/workforce.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, shift management, material planning, dispatch, and plant operations.
  • A high‑ownership mindset — driven, ambitious, accountable, and proactive in solving problems.
  • Strong ability to work on the shop floor, understand operational issues firsthand, and take quick decisions.
  • Comfortable managing both people and processes — approachable and respectful with employees and labour, but firm about operational discipline and accountability.
  • Strong problem‑solving and execution skills.
  • Experience in adhesives, chemicals, cement, paints, building materials, or other process/manufacturing industries is preferred.
