Job summary

Options Executive Search client seeks a senior AVP Land Acquisition to own end-to-end land function for Andhra Pradesh project portfolio, from strategy and aggregators to title clearance, approvals and handover to O&M, leading a multi-disciplinary team across legal, survey, project development and site functions.

You will drive land strategy with aggregators, ensure robust title clearance, manage RoW issues, coordinate with legal, HR/Admin, and OEM teams, and mentor staff across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Graduate with a master’s degree preferred.
• Extensive land acquisition experience in renewable energy, power, or infrastructure.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the land acquisition strategy for the region, coordinating with aggregators to align parcels with project timelines.
• Lead due diligence of land documentation and ensure robust title clearance across parcels.
• Coordinate with legal teams to resolve clearances and mitigate title/ownership risk.
• Oversee field survey planning and survey sketch preparation for land registration.
• Direct registration, mutation, and sub-division processes and manage NA conversion applications.
• Support project development and OEM/WTG teams to ensure land readiness through commissioning; manage RoW issues.
• Coordinate with logistics to secure land access routes for equipment movement.
• Partner with site HR/Admin on land-related matters and lead land handover to O&M with MIS reporting.
• Build and mentor a team across multiple sites/projects; act as senior escalation point with authorities and consultants.

We are looking for a senior land acquisition leader to drive land strategy and execution for the company's project portfolio in Andhra Pradesh.

Role Summary

The AVP Land Acquisition will own the end-to-end land function for the region, from acquisition strategy and aggregator relationships through to title clearance, statutory approvals, and final handover to O&M, while leading a team and acting as the senior point of coordination across legal, survey, project development, and site functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the land acquisition strategy for the region, working closely with land aggregators to secure parcels aligned with project development timelines.
• Lead internal scrutiny of land documentation and ensure robust title clearance processes across all parcels.
• Drive coordination with legal teams (site and corporate) to resolve legal clearances and mitigate title/ownership risk.
• Oversee field survey planning and execution, including survey sketch preparation for land registration.
• Direct registration, mutation, and sub-division processes for land parcels, and manage applications for NA (non-agricultural) conversion.
• Provide senior-level support to project development and OEM/WTG erection teams to ensure land readiness through to commissioning. Take ownership of Right of Way (RoW) resolution, proactively managing stakeholder and community issues that could impact project timelines.

Coordinate with logistics teams to secure land access routes for movement of WTG equipment, cranes, and transformers from highway to site.

• Partner with site HR & Admin functions on land-related administrative matters.
• Lead the land handover process to O&M teams and ensure MIS reporting is maintained to a high standard.
• Build and mentor a team to support the land function across multiple sites/projects.
• Serve as the senior escalation point for land-related issues with statutory authorities, consultants, and internal stakeholders.s

Preferred candidate profile

Graduate, preferably with a master's degree.

• 2025 years of experience in land acquisition, with a significant portion in renewable energy, power, or infrastructure sectors.
• Demonstrated experience managing land acquisition at scale across multiple projects or a large geographic footprint.
• Strong track record of leading teams and managing senior stakeholder relationships, including aggregators, government authorities, and legal counsel.
• Proven ability to resolve complex title, RoW, and regulatory issues independently.
• Proficient in MS Office; working knowledge of land records/MIS systems preferred.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to represent the organisation credibly with senior external parties.
• High integrity, strong organisational skills, and the ability to operate strategically while staying close to on-the-ground execution.
