Job summary

Focus Management Consultants in Mumbai seeks an experienced Head Jewellery Design to lead the jewellery design team, drive innovative designs, and ensure export standards for the US market.

The role requires 15+ years in jewellery design, hands-on Coral software expertise, and leadership to mentor designers and manage end-to-end design development. You will oversee concept creation, sketches, samples, and production readiness to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in jewellery designing, preferably in manufacturing and export.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the jewellery design team, ensuring timely delivery of designs and maintaining quality standards.
• Develop creative and commercially viable jewellery designs based on US market trends and customer preferences.
• Demonstrate hands-on expertise in Coral software for jewellery design and modifications.
• Perform manual jewellery designing, including hand sketches and concept development.
• Translate customer requirements into production-ready designs with reference images and briefs.
• Oversee design development for the US export market and ensure alignment with buyer expectations.
• Coordinate with merchandising, production, sampling, and sales teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Review and approve designs, samples, and prototypes before production.
• Monitor market trends, gemstones, materials and emerging jewellery styles.
• Ensure design accuracy, feasibility and adherence to timelines.
• Train and mentor team members to enhance creativity and skills.

The ideal candidate should have 15+ years of experience in jewellery designing, strong hands-on expertise in Coral software and manual jewellery designing, and a thorough understanding of the US export jewellery market.

The candidate will be responsible for developing innovative jewellery designs, understanding international market trends, managing the complete design process, and leading a team of designers to deliver high-quality designs as per customer requirements and export standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the jewellery design team, ensuring timely delivery of designs and maintaining quality standards.
• Develop creative and commercially viable jewellery designs based on US market trends, customer preferences, and seasonal collections.
• Demonstrate hands-on expertise in Coral software for jewellery design and modifications.
• Perform manual jewellery designing, including hand sketches, design detailing, and concept development.
• Understand customer requirements, reference images, samples, and design briefs, and convert them into production-ready designs.
• Handle design development for the US export market, ensuring alignment with international trends, buyer expectations, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with merchandising, production, sampling, and sales teams to ensure smooth execution of designs.
• Review and approve designs, samples, and prototypes before production.
• Monitor market trends, competitor designs, gemstones, materials, and emerging jewellery styles.
• Ensure design accuracy, product feasibility, and adherence to agreed timelines.
• Train, mentor, and guide team members to improve creativity, technical skills, and productivity.
• Manage design priorities, allocate tasks, and monitor individual and team performance.

• Minimum 15 years of experience in jewellery designing, preferably in a jewellery manufacturing and export company.
• Strong hands-on experience with Coral jewellery designing software.
• Expertise in manual jewellery designing and hand sketching.
• Proven experience working with the US export market, including an understanding of buyer preferences and jewellery trends.
• Prior experience in handling and leading a team of jewellery designers.
• Strong knowledge of jewellery design development, sampling, production processes, and quality standards.
• Ability to interpret customer requirements and develop commercially viable designs.
• Excellent creativity, attention to detail, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict design and sampling deadlines.
