Job summary

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) seeks an experienced EHS professional to lead the organization's EHS strategy for electronics manufacturing. You will ensure regulatory compliance, drive risk reduction, and promote environmental sustainability across manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain.

Key responsibilities include HIRA/JSA, PTW and LOTO implementation, incident investigation, and safeguarding contractor and visitor safety. Immediate joiners preferred.<\/p>

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in EHS management within electronics manufacturing or similar environments.
  • Solid knowledge of statutory compliance, risk assessment and safety audits.
  • Experience in environmental management, incident investigation and emergency preparedness.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001/45001 standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead EHS strategy and drive continual improvement across manufacturing, engineering and supply chain.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, reporting, permits and records management.
  • Lead Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
  • Implement safety controls, PTW systems and Lockout/Tagout practices.
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective actions; manage contractor and visitor safety programs.
  • Drive environmental management including air emissions, wastewater, hazardous waste handling, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Oversee EHS across SMT/PCB assembly operations, batteries handling, EMC/EMI and energy isolation.
  • Develop Emergency Response Plans and coordinate with local authorities and responders.
  • Lead EHS training programs and safety campaigns; report EHS KPIs to leadership.
  • Ensure ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 framework implementation and audits.

Position: Head EHS

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic EHS professional to lead and manage the organization's Environmental, Health & Safety strategy. The role will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, safe operations, environmental sustainability, risk reduction, and continuous EHS improvement across electronics manufacturing and associated operations.

Key Responsibilities
1. EHS Strategy & Leadership
  • Drive implementation of EHS policies, procedures and annual improvement plans.
  • Build and strengthen a proactive safety culture across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain and support functions.
  • Establish EHS KPIs and monitor leading and lagging indicators.
  • Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.
2. Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with statutory authorities for inspections, audits, approvals and regulatory reporting.
  • Maintain all required permits, licenses, registers and statutory records.
3. Occupational Health & Safety
  • Lead Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
  • Implement safety controls and Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
  • Lead incident investigation, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Manage contractor and visitor safety programs.
  • Drive machine safety and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) practices.
4. Environmental Management

Ensure effective management and compliance related to:

  • Air emissions
  • Wastewater management
  • Hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal
  • Chemical storage and handling
  • Resource efficiency
  • Sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives
5. Electronics Manufacturing Safety

Drive EHS controls across:

  • SMT and PCB assembly operations
  • Soldering processes
  • Chemical storage and handling
  • ESD-controlled production areas
  • Clean rooms and testing laboratories
  • Battery handling and storage
  • EMC/EMI and electrical safety
  • Machine safety and energy isolation
6. Emergency Preparedness
  • Develop and maintain Emergency Response Plans.
  • Conduct fire drills, evacuation exercises and mock emergency scenarios.
  • Coordinate with local emergency services and relevant stakeholders.
7. EHS Management Systems

Lead implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of:

  • ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
  • ISO 45001 – Occupational Health & Safety Management System
  • ISO 50001 – Energy Management System (Preferred)

Conduct internal audits, management reviews and closure of audit findings.

8. Training & Capability Development
  • Develop and conduct EHS training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Ensure competency development and awareness across the organization.
  • Drive regular safety campaigns, toolbox talks and awareness initiatives.
9. Reporting & Governance
  • Present EHS performance and key risks to senior leadership.
  • Track and report EHS KPIs, incidents, near misses and compliance status.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual EHS/compliance reports.
  • Ensure timely closure of identified gaps and corrective actions.
Ideal Candidate

Candidates with strong experience in EHS management within electronics manufacturing, engineering, industrial manufacturing, PCB/SMT, or similar environments are encouraged to apply.

Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, risk assessment, safety audits, environmental management, incident investigation, emergency preparedness and ISO 14001/45001 will be preferred.
