Job summary

Head – Application Engineering is a leadership role based in India for a prominent electrical appliances company. You will guide the application engineering function, drive technical solutions, and coordinate with R&D, sales, manufacturing and quality teams to deliver customer-focused product applications.

You will oversee solution development, validation, and customer support, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards while mentoring a growing team and supporting new product

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• 12–18 years of relevant experience in electrical appliances, consumer durables, electrical products, or related industries.
• Strong experience in application engineering, product development, technical solutions and customer support.
• Good knowledge of electrical systems, components, controls and testing.
• Experience managing technical teams and cross-functional projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel for customer meetings, trials and technical discussions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Application Engineering team and manage technical activities.
• Understand customer requirements and translate them into suitable product/application solutions.
• Provide technical support to sales and key customers.
• Drive product selection, application development, testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Work closely with R&D, Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality and Sales teams.
• Develop technical specifications, application guidelines and product documentation.
• Support new product development and product improvement initiatives.
• Conduct technical feasibility studies and recommend appropriate solutions. Handle customer technical escalations and ensure timely resolution.
• Support product demonstrations, trials and technical presentations.
• Identify opportunities for product customization and value engineering.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical, safety and quality standards.
• Lead root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and develop the application engineering team.
