Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting for a senior technology leader in Pune to define roadmaps for EV and ADAS sensing solutions. You will head cross-functional teams across image sensors, ultrasonic, radar/LiDAR, and sensing electronics, driving innovation from concept to production.

The role requires 15+ years in automotive electronics and strong leadership with OEM and Tier-1 collaboration experience, coupled with deep expertise in sensing architectures and system integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, Automotive Engineering or related discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in automotive electronics, sensing technologies, ADAS, autonomous systems or mobility platforms.
• Proven leadership experience managing large engineering and product development teams.
• Strong technical expertise in image sensors, ultrasonic sensors, radar/LiDAR, ADAS sensing architecture, sensor fusion and intelligent vehicle systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technology roadmap for advanced sensing solutions supporting EV, ADAS, and intelligent mobility applications.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in image sensors, ultrasonic sensors, environmental sensing systems, and emerging sensing technologies.
• Drive innovation from concept to proof-of-concept, product architecture, validation, and industrialisation.
• Identify trends, customer requirements, and market opportunities within autonomous and connected vehicle ecosystems.
• Collaborate with global customers, partners, startups, research institutes, and universities to accelerate product innovation.
• Provide technical leadership across electronics, embedded software, signal processing, algorithms, sensing hardware, and system integration.
• Establish robust engineering processes, governance, and best-in-class product development methodologies.
• Support business growth through technology differentiation, IP creation, and technical customer engagement.
• Represent the organisation in customer discussions, industry forums, and strategic partnerships.

Job Description

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline. A PhD would be advantageous.
• 15+ years of progressive experience within automotive electronics, sensing technologies, ADAS, autonomous systems, or mobility platforms.
• Proven leadership experience managing large engineering and product development teams.
• Strong technical expertise in one or more of the following domains:

1. Image sensors and vision systems
2. Ultrasonic sensing technologies
3. Radar or LiDAR systems
4. ADAS sensing architecture
5. Sensor fusion and intelligent vehicle systems

• Deep understanding of automotive development processes, functional safety, and product lifecycle management.
• Demonstrated success in launching complex technology products from concept through production.
• Experience working with global OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, or advanced technology companies.
• Strong strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and influencing capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior executives, technology partners, and customers.
