Job summary

Thales in Bangalore, India, is seeking hardware design engineers to develop and test advanced hardware solutions for aerospace and cyber sectors. You will work on schematics, interfaces, and manufacturing documentation, while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Role involves hardware IVVQ activities, test bench integration, and producing essential design files and manuals in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in hardware design and development with a focus on interfaces, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of RoHS/REACH/WEEE, CE Marking and IPC-610/IPC-620 manufacturing standards.
• Hands-on experience with lab instruments for testing and data collection.
• Experience performing hardware IVVQ activities including verification and qualification.

Responsibilities

• Elaborates requirements and supports test hardware design and development.
• Contributes to hardware architectural design and BOM/ICD generation.
• Performs Electrical CAD for wiring harnesses and electrical interfaces.
• Develops technical documentation like construction files and manuals.
• Participates in integration and verification phases of test benches.

Mandatory Skills Required

• Design and develop hardware solutions, prepare schematics, electrical interfaces, wiring diagrams, and manufacturing documentation.
• Familiarity with RoHS, REACH, WEEE, CE Marking, DO-160, and manufacturing standards like IPC-610 and IPC-620.
• COTS Test & Measurement equipment – Hands‑on experience with laboratory instruments such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, power supplies, and data acquisition systems.
• HW IVVQ Testing – Perform hardware integration, verification, validation, and qualification (IVVQ) activities, ensuring systems meet functional and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities And Tasks

• Elaborates the requirements and supports in the test hardware design and development.
• Contributes to the hardware architectural design and generates associated manufacturing definition files (Bill of material (BOM), electrical interconnection and wiring details (ICD)).
• Performs CAD activities (Electrical CAD) for wiring harness for racks/cabinets and electrical interfaces.
• Develops supporting documents like technical construction file, user and maintenance manuals.
• Participates in the integration activities and verification phases of test benches/ building blocks.
