Job summary

Interface Microsystems in Pune, India, is seeking a detail-oriented hardware design engineer to deliver automotive electronic hardware from concept to production, ensuring compliance with ASPICE and ISO 26262 functional safety.

You will design analog, digital and power circuits, review layouts for signal integrity and EMI, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet regulatory and customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's in electrical/electronics or related engineering.
  • Knowledge of vehicle regulatory norms impacting ECU design.
  • Experience with ASPICE and ISO 26262 functional safety.
  • Experience designing Automotive ECUs (Body Control Module, Door Control Module, Zonal Computers).

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop automotive electronic hardware from concept through production.
  • Review PCB layouts for signal integrity, EMC/EMI, thermal performance, and manufacturability.
  • Ensure design verification via worst-case analysis, derating, and reliability studies.
  • Support ISO 26262 hardware safety analysis and safety reviews.
  • Interface with suppliers and customers for technical discussions.
  • Generate and maintain hardware design documentation and test reports.

Job description

ROLE

We are seeking a detail‑oriented hardware design engineers to deliver automotive electronic hardware from concept to production, ensuring compliance with automotive regulations, ASPICE, ISO 26262 Functional Safety, quality standards, and customer requirements.

Role & responsibilities
  • 3-12 Years of experience in automotive hardware design and development.
  • Design and develop automotive electronic hardware from concept through production.
  • Create hardware architecture, select critical components and interfacing strategies.
  • Develop analog, digital, mixed‑signal, and power electronic circuits.
  • Review PCB layouts for signal integrity, EMC/EMI, thermal performance, and manufacturability etc.
  • Collaborate with PCB layout engineers to meet automotive design requirements.
  • Ensure design level verification from aspects like worst case analysis, component derating and reliability analysis.
  • Review functional testing, environmental testing, EMC/EMI testing, reliability testing, design verification testing (DVT). Analyse failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Support ISO 26262 hardware safety analysis. Participate in FMEDA, DFA, FTA, and safety reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with ASPICE processes and customer requirements.
  • Support DFMEA activities and design reviews.
  • Work closely with software, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • Interface with suppliers and customers for technical discussions.
  • Support prototype builds, debugging, and product launches.
  • Generate and maintain technical documentation (hardware requirements, design specifications, test reports, design review records, release documentation)
Preferred candidate profile
  • Bachelors or masters degree in electrical /Electronics, Telecommunications, or related Engineering field.
  • Very good knowledge of vehicle regulatory norms impacting ECU design.
  • Project management skills for planning and executing hardware deliveries.
  • Technical leadership, teamwork, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Working experience of functional safety (ISO 26262, ASIL compliance) and cybersecurity regulations.
  • Knowledge of automotive verification & validation standards (e.g., CISPR, IEC/ISO etc).
  • Hands‑on experience in designing Automotive ECUs (Body Control Module, Door Control Module, Zonal Computers, etc).
  • Exposure to complete product development lifecycle from concept to SOP.
